How does Greg Oden have more potential than Dwight Howard?

Dwight came straight from high school.


And Oden played only one year of college.


Oden aside, what would be the real difference? One year of college isnt that much of a difference as far as age/maturity/experience goes in my eyes.

Tell David Stern to reverts to the old school defense No zone, no double teaming without the ball, allow allow check. And not this new, more fun, guard oriented league.

No kidding. Even the big men are playing like gaurds.


Honestly i think gaurds are more marketable, so this is why there is an emphasis on them, in which the rules cater to them. Its lame.

Because IMO...Oden is already as good as Howard...and he hasn't even played in the NBA yet...remember...hops isn't everything

Oden will be a better defender on helping in the paint and one on one

The biggest thing he has over Howard is size. They are the same height but Oden is much thicker and wider and at one point he was weighing a muscular 275 before he was injured...I'm sure by the time he is 28 he could weight a muscular 285 or 290 which is scary

Another reason is...if Portland does keep Zach, Oden will be able to learn a lot of low post offensive moves as Zach is probably the best low post scorer in the NBA...hate it or not...so Oden will be a beast on the D and has potential to be the same on the offensive end

WOW. oden cant even carry dwights jockstraps. dwight= best C in the league if duncan is not counted as a center. after lebron, there isnt a better player to build foundation on for years then dwight.

Duncan is defintley a center, especially now playing alongside Matt Bonner and Kurt Thomas the last couple of seasons.

But Dwight was better last season than Duncan was. His dominant ECF performances, his great seaosn leading Orlando to 59 wins and leading the league in rebounds and blocks while winning DPOY defintley puts him number 1.

It is a possiility, but Dwight needs to show that it is a possibility. He needs to take control of the paint on offense and become a leader, he just hasn't done this yet.l


21-14-3 as a 23 year old is elite status for centers, oden is a prospect, nothing more at this point - this thread is ****ing ridiculous, so many dwight haters who dont realize just how special the dude is
