You have Dirk, a person who has been loyal to his franchise his whole career, a great leader, that led the Mavs to the Playoff on the tough Western conference 12 consecutive times.

He didn't care about stats, he cared about real impact. Thanks to that and his abilities to play basketball, the Dallas Mavericks were consistently a Top 5 offensive team throughout the 00's.

So we have a great player who only cares about helping his team and having a true impact in the game, a great leader that doesn't create drama and a person who is loyal to his team.

Your team will constantly get ref help and sometimes even suspensions to key players on the opposing team because ESPN and the commissioner want him to be as good as Jordan so damn bad.

Other than that, literally nothing. 0.

Very weak arguments exist but honestly after the sonning Dirk gave LeBron in 2011 I just don't see a good argument placing him over Dirk.

Dirk is top 15, LeBron is fringe at best but realistically is closer to 20 than 15

At the very least you know Bron won't lose as a 1st seed to an 8th seed

0 argument. Dirk will ride it out and be loyal for all of his career while Lebron will leave the first chance possible and without telling you.

No, but he'll still lose as the 1st seed, twice.

Lebron was clearly a better player, but there is essentially no argument as you know Lebron is going to bounce...and he's not coming back to the other 29 franchises like he did to the Cavs because that was a specific thing to his hometown situation.

Well, the only argument...and it is a bad one...is that Lebron's first 7 years are more valuable than Dirk's entire career for a franchise...

And that just isn't true imo.

We don't know that at all.

Put Lebron in the West with the kind of help Dirk had much of his career and losing in the first round is of course a real possibility.

Lebron was better than Dirk pretty much at every spot of his career...so there is less of a chance of course, but the West is a whole different animal.

Again, we are seeing it play out right now. There are almost no nights off...it has been this way for roughly 20 years now. Even when you are playing a scrub team in the West...it really isn't a night off because there will be real pressure to win for playoff seeding. There is such a limited margin for error.
