View Full Version : LeBron getting exposed in the Western Conference

This season should make people appreciate Kobe, Duncan, Dirk and others in the stacked West being the All-Time greats that they were and should retroactively ding LeBron for being a product of the Least. 8 straight Finals in the Least is not even playoff level in the West. We knew this all along and it's playing it out just as we expected in the mighty purple and gold. Hell this season the East got slightly better by addition by subtraction with LeColluder out and the West got slightly weaker due to LeBron sabotaging two franchises which he routinely does in the Least.

Despite all of this.. and Lakers playing over 60% of their games against West teams, Lakers in the East would be at the very least a 7 seed. Wouldn't surprise me if LeExposed complained and requested a playoff re-seeding just like he complained after getting lit up in the All-Star game 8 out of a 10 year stretch. Pathetic.

One year later he is now leading the Lakers to the no.1 seed in a very tough Western Conference. OP don't know $hit about basketball.

Anthony Davis leads the Lakers in ppg, rpg, spg, bpg, PER, WS/48. I think that's the main difference here.

Yup. No AD = like 35 wins. See: 2018-2019 season.

AD, whose made the playoffs without Lebron on several occasions, is the difference maker.

We all knew Lebron led team will be a bottom feeder in the West.

Lebron is best suited as a number 2 playing behind AD. A Lebron led team will never make it to the playoff in the west

LeBron Career Splits by Conference

Against the East: 27.2 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 7.3 APG 50.4% shooting
Against the West: 26.9 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 7.6 APG 50.4% shooting

How about Kobe and Duncan as a comparison?

Kobe Career Splits by Conference

Against the East: 24.2 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 4.7 APG 43.9% shooting
Against the West: 25.4 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.7 APG, 45.2% shooting

Duncan Career Splits by Conference

Against the East: 18.8 PPG, 11.0 RPG, 3.0 APG 50.6% shooting
Against the West: 19.1 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 3.0 APG 50.6% shooting

The Western conference is overrated. For all the hype about how competitive and stacked it is, since 1999 the Lakers have won the West 7 times, Spurs 7 times, and Warriors 5 times. The rest of the conference combined has won it only 3 times during this span.

Kobe had the Lakers as one of the top seeds prior to the Gasol trade, pretty sure they were #1 before Bynum went down but were still playing at a 53-win pace at the time of the trade.

I know but today, some self-proclaimed goat tries to revive it. Anyway, i find it a coincidence that dwight howard was in the same team 7 years ago and now again that they should have been playing in the playoffs.

The thing about the conferences was only a hope for LeBron's critics. But basketball is basketball. He's going to win anywhere it's played.

He is going to win a championship in the West. Maybe more than one.

I'm not following how that makes it over-rated.

Clearly the West has had much better teams top to bottom in the time frame you reference. So regular season wins are a little harder to come by...and playoff series wins are harder as well. Listing the Lakers/Warriors/Spurs (also, why not just list the Mavs as they are 2 of the 3) like it somehow was only those teams doesn't really make sense.

It has clearly been the better of the two conferences and life has been much harder on teams in the West.

No doubt. Being swept in the finals is considered a win as well.
