Home grown players in big markets get free passes on the team not doing great, but if you come in to a big market as a star, you better be a STAR, otherwise your going to get thrown under the bus as a bum.

On the flip side, it was a horrible signing by the Lakers, everyone knew LBJ wasn't going to run rough shot over the western conference and he's drifting into the twilight of his career. It was a desperate attempt to jack up ratings and interest in one of the teams that already has the most fans.
