The other day I was watching my Kings play the Bucks
I was in the Kings game thread on Reddit talking about how terrible Bogdan Bogdanovic was playing for us the whole game. Everyone was complaining about him as well. I swore he must've played like shit. After the game I check the box score. He had 28,8,8 against the best team in the league. And he was like our 4-5th best player that game performance wise. I was like wtf. Then I remembered, the final score was 143-142.
Lmao stats are garbage
If you want to know what these averages really are in any era prior to 2010... Subtract 7 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 rebounds along with -6% FG shooting. These rules increase everyone's averages that much, seriously.
James Harden is really averaging 29.7ppg, 4rpg, and 5apg on 38%fg
LeBron this season is really averaging 20ppg, 6rpg, and 5.5apg on 45%fg
Take a look at those numbers, you guys know they're MUCH more accurate than what you're seeing statistically in 2019. James Harden is averaging more than '05 Kobe. But we all know those two seasons aren't remotely comparable as far as the impressiveness and outright talent we witnessed Kobe pull that year.
Official Analytics:
To find out what current players would average in the modern era before 2010
-7ppg, -2.5apg, -2.5rpg, and -6%FG

LMFAO I cant believe Harden is averaging 36 ppg. It really does speak true to this BS league of just buckets, no D. Good job Silver.

Silver managed to push up everyone's scoring averages 7pts
Pretty huge shit
Imagine '05 Kobe in this era
42.4ppg, 7.8rpg, 7.0apg on 51%FG
Analysts wouldn't know what to do with themselves with a guy like that

The other night I was comparing Laker stats during the season Kobe averaged 30 in the early 00s, think it was the 2002-03 season. And it turned out that Laker team allowed something like 14 fewer points per game than this Laker team.
LeBron is averaging what 27 a game? That's a lot of points for a player his age anyway you slice it, we can all agree on that right?
At one end you marvel at the consistency of his scoring output, but on the other hand, you can't help but think if allowing 14 more points cuts the impact of his scoring in half.
I think real impact is mostly about situational scoring rather than anything else.

No I disagree, why should I be impressed at 7 extra unimpeded points per game, especially when his first 20ppg came with no resistance as well.
At one end you marvel at the consistency of his scoring output, but on the other hand, you can't help but think if allowing 14 more points cuts the impact of his scoring in half.
I'd marvel if he was putting up those points in an equal opportunity offense first and secondly if there was any defensive resistance
I think real impact is mostly about situational scoring rather than anything else.

The Lakers during Kobe's MVP season were playing at a pace of 96.2 and Kobe averaged 28/6/5. The current Lakers are playing at a higher pace and in fact, it's about 7% more than the '08 Lakers. Even pace adjusted to Kobe's MVP season, LeBron's numbers would still be 25/8/8 on very good efficiency.
Also, the Cavs of last year were nearly at the same pace as the '08 Lakers.
OP....:biggums: :biggums: :biggums:
Please quit posting. That shit was just embarrassing to read. No matter the mental gymnastics, Brick is not going to break into the top 15.

Yea OP, I was thinking about something like that, so i came up with Inflated Era Stat Adjuster Coefficient™ which would be like 0.8 for 2018-2019 season. 0.8 * 36 =28,8 seems about right. My predicitons for next season are somwhere along the lines of 0.73-0.77, respectively.

It must suck to be a limited mind
You think pace is the only factor when determining numbers?
You think this layup fest where flagrant fouls are when a guy falls era only contributes a 2pt bump in scoring averages..??!
Man I can rip your entire dumbass argument to shreds but I'll just wait till you expose yourself with some more idiocy.. you think this version of LeBron is a 25ppg scorer in 2005? Lmao
Guy is literally putting together the kind of season Tyreke Evans was his rookie year as far as impressiveness, but with less defense and even less leadership. You can even clearly see them both leading their team to the lottery

I'm pretty sure that your mom was on crack when she had you and also dropped you on your head to boot.
Let me educate your retarded ass a bit.
The average number of FTA's per team were 26.1 in 2005. This season the average number of FTA's a team is taking is 23.3. The average teams FG% in 2005 was 44.7%. The average FG% of a team today is 46%. That's a difference of 1.3% and that would be less than half a shot made per game, if I'm not mistaken. So, the increase in points due to the increase in FG% is less than a point a game. Also, 22.6 fouls a game were called in 2005. It's down to 21.2 a game today. The FTr (since you are retarded, FTr is the number of FT's attempted per FG attempt) in 2005 was .324 today, it's .262.
Also, do you have the total number of flagrant fouls called in 2005, compared to the total number today (which is 105, last season)? If not, stop talking out of your ass.
You just compared current LeBron to rookie Tyreke Evans. Good lord, no wonder you're a Kobe stan. If all you retards were to be Thanos'd, the collective IQ of the world would go up by at least 50 points.

To be fair in Harden's case you're literally not ALLOWED to play D on him.

Silver has done a terrible job. Offence was fine, now it's just a zero intensity game of trading buckets and maybe playing D for the last 2 minutes, maybe.
It's a terrible product.

The league rules start favoring offensive perimeter players long time ago. But really I am watching today and you can touch a guy, cant't even stare at him ... it is ridiculous.
And James Harden - yes, he scored 36 points per game, it is not easy and yes he is at his prime peak years. And I also had some words about rules - I see carrying, traveling. And I don't know if it discussed here - but I am not sure how legal his step back 3s are. I am not hating on Harden as he got the best from this situation. Still he is yet to convince me that he is a great player, I need to see him dominating during the post-season, where we got better defenses, something I don't see from him yet.
