Kyrie: "It's a constant battle b/c the media has just gotten outrageous. He's the greatest player playing in our game right now but even seeing somebody question Bron's body of work, my body of work, KD's body of work. Nobody should question what kind of winners those guys are."

Now, admittedly, this wasn't news the last couple of years.... since 2011, coaches and players and commentators have unanimously refered to LeBron as BITW....

thats a loooong time....

But, this is the first year where I've heard it be open, split... LeBron and KD are mentioned. It's a first.

I remember when Pierce tried to fast-track this process by saying KD's shot into LeBron's grill 2017 game 3 was a passing of the torch moment, the others disagreed and after game 4, Rose, Billups, etc. pushed Pierce into saying the torch indeed has not been passed yet :lol

He's definitely not the best player in the NBA right now. I think Giannis, Harden, George, Curry, and Durant have all been better.

Also he hasn't always been the best player every single year since 2010. I believe Kevin Durant was the best player in the world in 2013-14 and in 2016 it was a toss-up between Curry and LeBron.

Yeah, as a Kyrie fan... his opinions don't really hold much weight..

Its very interesting. This is the first year since 2010 that the consensus is split.

Back then you heard Kobe/Bron (it was obviously Bron, but in this day and age people take time to adjust and dont like letting go of the "winner"), and now its Bron/KD.

Nope, in 2014 I remembering hearing a lot of people say Durant was the best player in the world. Same for Steph Curry in 2016

Embiid just said that Durant was the best player in the world.

He also said MJ is the GOAT ... so ... and also clearly admire or respects Kobe more than Bron.

Not a single player, coach or commentator said that. Not a single one.

He didn't say "The best one", he said "the Greatest": Like Jordan was the Greatest while playingfor the Wizards.

Only KD and Curry could reach the sphere Lebron played at the last 8 years. Now that Father time finally catched him up, he just have to be sure to retire gracefully...Of course he chose to do it in the spotlight of L.A...Not the wisest choice tbh

This is the first FOR SURE year in a long time where Lebron is NOT the best player.

He is old, and missed 20% of the season due to injury. AND he won't have the playoffs to prove himself best so...yeah idk how you can make ANY case the Bron was the best player this year.

That doesn't negate the rest of his career.

And Lebron showed Curry who the better player was.. Lebron didnt meet up with KD so that is a tough one to judge..
