The only time he didn't protect his stats was in 2015 during the finals, which is one of my favorite series by him. He didn't give a **** and just did was necessary to win games.

Bron checked out after philly.

He knows what he needs to average 27 7 7. Even fans can see he does that. Hes not going to be killing his body if theres nothin to play for.

Maybe Kobe plays longer if he didnt sacrifice his body for bad seasons. Who knows

The only reason there's nothing to play for is because lebron was settling for his 27/7/7, instead of carrying the team with 37 ppg like harden, or great teamwork/leadership or D like Jokic/Gianni's/kawhi

Old news. LeBron is not a volume shooter. He always pulls this ish. Why are these people surprised?

And people still shat on him for shooting 36% that series. I'm actually surprised he was able to shoot that % because he was literally the only scoring option for that team.

There were a bunch of plays yesterday where we were stuck in the mud and players passed LeBron the ball to create something at the top of the 3 point line, and he tossed it back.

Clearly he couldn't or wouldn't try to attack offensively.

Wow, Shannon has seen the light

It was always obvious that for most of his career LeBron cared about padding his stats. It's the root of his beta mindset, it's what made his 2015 finals commendable

There is only one time that I've seen Lebron play with hunger. That 4th quarter and OT of game 6 vs San Antonio. He looked like he was playing for his life.

It was scary. I haven't seen anything like that since.

I would like to add 2012 ECF game 6 vs, sadly, my Celtics :(

From the start I knew we were done for. There was no stopping LeBron that night.

That game saved his career tbh.

It really did... can you imagine the laughingstock he'd be if he lost that series? Might not have ever gotten a ring in his career depending on how things turned out (Would've finished with 1 MAX), wouldn't even be top 20 all time and Simon would never be heard from again :oldlol:

Lol @ the obsession with Kobe.

And lebron doesnt 'need' to average those numbers.

Speaking of Game 6, he went 2/7 with 4 turnovers in the last 9 minutes of that game.

16 points in 4th quarter of an elimination game.

No one said he needs to average those numbers. But it's clear he plays his numbers to make sure he's at 27-7-7. Nothing more nothing less.

Agreed. He finally went down guns blazing and had a chance to pull off an incredible upset because of it. That series was when he started to grow on me as a player.

I think it's because it was obvious to even Lebron that those guys were not going hit open shots even if he spoonfed them. Otherwise Lebron usually believes that his shooters will more time than not hit the open shots he gets em. Sometimes it doesn't work out like that and a superstar has to "break" the offense to assert himself but Lebron is willing to go down holding that belief.
