Getting his total stats/longevity achievement in this empty stat, no defense and poor leadership season???

A mix of shame and LOL.

Empty stats, feel nothing.
Probably Lebron and his stans will make it a big deal.

I'll actually just applaud him. It's a great accomplishment. Doesn't mean he's better than Jordan, as that's hardly the case. But he is an ATG, top 5-10 all time. It's impressive, no way around it.

I can see LeBron playing long enough to surpass Kareem, although I expect Lebron's per game scoring output will take a serious hit in the next years, particularly if the Lakers somehow get a legitimate superstar who can take over much of the scoring load.

He surpassed MJ in 2007. So I guess he's lapping him now?

if you're breaking longevity records when you're not worth a damn as a player to your team then its not really an impressive accomplishment

i never cared about kobe passing MJ because i knew he only got it by staying around too long

if lebrons playing like dog shit at 32k then imagine his impact at 38k and beyond if he sticks around that long

None really, we all saw it coming a few years out already. It's a great accomplishment for him but I'll be more impressed if he's able to catch Kareem. It's a great moment for the game when these milestones are approached.

** I find it quite hilarious and ironic Kobestans will likely have to watch him pass Kobe in a Lakers uni.

the fact that you said 2007 and not 2016 means even you think lebrons resume is a joke

Why would anyone that watched MJ give a shit? :oldlol:

This may be a great accomplishment to people who only saw LeBron and not MJ, but all it does is further emphasize MJ's GOAT dominance. Imagine requiring many more games to match MJ's total scoring because he was just that damn good.

Imagine coming back to the league with 17gms left in the season to try to win a ring the cheapest way imaginable only to get bounced in the 2nd round

The GOAT in their respected sport don't do that.

No.

Lakers will be getting demolished by the Nuggets by the time the 2nd half starts

LeBron has 12 points. 3rd quarter starts and Nuggets get off to a hot start, expanding their lead even more.

Luke Walton takes a timeout.

Kyle Kuzma notices LeBron isnt in the huddle. Instead, he's one the sideline biting his fingernails. Kuzma approaches LeBron and pushes him.

LeBron acts like he's been shot by a sniper

https://thumbs.gfycat.com/BeautifulPaleImperatorangel-small.gif

Down goes LeBron.

But he's frustrated so it's not over yet. The first time he gave Kuzma a pass but now he's had enough. LeBron gets up quickly, and pushes Kyle Kuzma with all his power.

Before Kuzma had the chance to get up, LeBron goes over to the bench and grabs the Gatorade cooler and throws it on his team and Kuzma.

https://thumbs.gfycat.com/DependableOrangeIrukandjijellyfish-size_restricted.gif

He gets ejected and before he heads to the locker room he says "half of you guys won't be here next season. Too da loo bitchesss" while holding up 2 middle fingers

Lakers lose by 40 and LeBron doesn't pass MJ in points

The end

I'm 44 and watched MJ since he was a freshman at UNC. But I still "give a shit." Does it mean a lot? Not all that much in the long run, but only truly great players are ever at this scoring echelon. You can't deny the moment.

No one in their right mind would take longevity over performance, which is why Jordan (who was pretty much an iron man himself) is comfortably ahead of LeBron. But that doesn't mean passing him in total points isn't noteworthy. Of course, the big question is whether LeBron passes Kareem. But that also, without more doesn't make him better or greater than Jordan, or for that matter other greats such as Kareem, Magic, perhaps Russell, etc.
