Never been to Bakersfield but have def heard the horror stories. Tuscon Ive been thru, deserves a mention.

Honestly, it’s not expressed that often openly bc it’s not a popular notion for politicians, businesses, media etc to push.... but America is filled up with so much trash. Race notwithstanding, every group’s got its share of junk.

There is so much low class trash out there. It’s unreal.

damn SA sounds like a sh1thole. and i've been wanting to visit bc for whatever reason i envisioned it being a cool city for a hispanic.

i also can't take people seriously when they're heavily tatted...neck tats tho, probably won't get me to acknowledge you as a human being.

It does have some cool latino heritage stuff in the one small part of downtown that’d dedicated to tourist stuff. As a man with a spanish ancestor myself (the great Emilia Herrera!) I enjoyed what few historical attractions there are in that regard... and I would recommend the city for basically a 1 day stay just to take that stuff in. But as a place to live or for an extended stay... uggh. The city itself is so poorly maintained. Dude I watched a city metro bus just plow thru a red light like it was no big deal, the cars coming the other way had to hit the brakes :lol Stuff like that happens constantly.

If you (or anyone here) has never been to Santa Fe, THAT’s where you should visit. Coolest downtown area in the county IMO. Pretty, well maintained, not overcrowded, and lots of interesting stuff to see.

San Antonio is just.... smh. Makes me want to take an endless shower.

Bakersfield is meth city without much discrimination. Men, women, old, young, black, Hispanic, white, etc.

Tucson has nice parts as well, namely the North and East parts of the city, wouldn't classify it as a dirty city (at least half the city got bad to make the list for me). South Tucson is its own municipality within the city of Tucson, with crime rates that rival Camden.

Blythe is another city I forgot and Marina Del Rey/Venice are quickly reaching trash status with the amount of homeless encampments.

Blythe! :lol

Dude Ive driven thru there probably 5 or 6 times, stayed overnight a couple of them. I always wonder how the **** people end up in Blythe. It is the absolute middle of nowhere. 3 hours drive in all directions from ANYTHING. No sports teams, no concerts, no night clubs, no anything. Just a town full of people who dont seem to give too much of a particular **** about life.

Frickin Blythe. Ive always been fascinated by that place.

I dont know about gross but Mississippi was the most boring place ive ever been, the least attractive to look at, and it generally seemed unpleasant. Not an anti south thing. I live in South Carolina. Im always in Georgia. Louisiana is nice in the parts you have heard of. But Alabama and Mississippi are just....nothing. They might as well be 500 miles of rest areas because thats the only reason to get off the highway going through them.

Relative of mine said basically the same thing. He said it was pretty much a real life version of how everyone pictures it. The restaurant they stopped at the waitress was missing several teeth etc. Said they couldnt believe how much Mississippi was actually the place it’s reputed to be. Even in 2017 (when he was there.) between the U.S and canada it's easily detroit

some of those neighborhoods looked like warzones. looked like a bomb went off which is a shame considering what detroit used to be.

half complete houses standing, decay and deterioration everywhere from the streets to the signposts to the people. was rather unsettling.

You should feel embarrassed, but I dont think youve got the self awareness.

It sounds from your medical posts that youre a nurse or something by trade?

Maybe stick to those topics. Youve got at least a puncher’s chance there at offering something mildly useful/interesting. Every other discussion sees you bereft of intelligent input, and overcompensating with a combination of pretentious left wing groupthink and wildly out of place race baiting.

It’s just too much try-hardin sister. It’s makin us normal folk cringe, ya hear?

Yeah San Antone isn't as bad as Starface is saying.

Lots of people are moving there from elsewhere, I personally don't care much for San Antonio but it is hardly the "grossest city" in the US. It has its ok/nice parts of town and its shitty parts too, just like every city has. I lived there 3 1/2 years so I would know much more than OP.

Cost of living isn't bad and there are a lot of jobs...not much into that Texan lifestyle (funny because my ancestors were Tejanos before it became part of the US). Never been to Detroit nor Cleveland but guessing its nowhere near as bad as those two..

You live in Mexico, right? I live 1 hr north of SA currently and am in the city right now.

There is a burgeoning medical research sector but all the young professionals moving here for it are living way outside the city. The city itself is a sinkhole. Places like Cleveland have bad parts and good parts within the general city radius.

San Antonio, for as big as it is by area, has a super small amount of nice area within the city radius until you get way out into the distant suburbs.

Youve never been to Cle or Det, yet youre “guessing” theyre worse?:lol

Hey, thats fine. It’s a message board, say whatever you wanna say. People can decide whom to trust. An American with nuanced cultural standards, or a guy down in Mexico guessing what it’s like here.

South American ghettos, downtown Rio De Janeiro seemed like nothing and 2 min later your skirting through the favela slums. 10x10 Huts ontop of huts, walls made of cardboard, the smell, beyond poverty or policia control. Oh it's gnarly, you gotta have a stomach to enter eery places like the favela's in Brazil.

2nd runner up would be China, just anywhere. Filthy culture, pollution and civilians who aren't taught to respect the environment from elderly to kids. Take shots before visiting, travelers getting sick on their water/food/air is immediate and guaranteed. Immune systems can't handle that bacterial stress unless you grow up in it.

Berlin. Since the communist, the social democrats and the geen party are in power, the city has turned into a big shithole. Let that sink in: only Berlin has already welcomed over 90.000 refugees and are still welcoming more refugees, although the unemployement rate in Berlin is one of the highest with 8% and there is already no enough housing space and the rental Prices are skyhigh.

Not only that, Berlin needs every year money from the other german states via the inter-state fiscal adjustment. Last year it was 4.2 Billion €, mostly paid by my home state Bavaria.

All I'm saying is that you're overhyping how bad SA is. Its not as terrible as you say, its a city that lots of folks are moving too. I will say that I agree with your take on the people that live there, I have never seen so much tats and bull dykes in my life before :oldlol: Literally everyone there is tatted up.

It’s just super gritty. If that’s some people’s scene, fair enough. And the downtown high rises look like they havent been renovated since the 60s. The few isolated upscale districts are tiny compared to the size of the city itself, proportionally much smaller than most cities.

Yes the city is growing, mainly bc of the draw of TX no income tax, which is bringing businesses, and SA has the lowest property costs of the major cities right now for setting up shop. But again, this is mainly happening outside the city area. In a few years the inner/outer city wealth disparity is gonna be huge. The city area is simply ghetto af.

As I said, the alamo and the heritage stuff downtown plus the riverwalk are cool to spend a day at. But anyone looking to spend a week somewhere should NOT go to San Antonio. Outside of the few blocks kept decent four tourists... yikes.

It's definitely the worst city in Texas. I didn't really find it dirty the last time I went but other than the riverwalk, it's got nothing going for it. The job growth there is severly lacking in comparison to Austin, Ft. Worth, Dallas and Houston. The only real major business there is the military and oil and gas as of recent.

A lot of downtown Dallas is definitely gross af and getting worse, I was just there a couple weeks ago. It’s still a far better city than San Antonio due to the far greater amounts of nice areas and redeeming qualities.

It’s people like you who let cities turn to shit. As soon as someone points out how dirty and overcrowded and crime infested a given area is becoming, you jump up and shout “he hates brown people!!!” bc it’s the only thing youve ever got to say. Youre the exact reason nobody is allowed to clean anything up, because youre that guy trying to convince everyone he’s socially superior and progressive by playing the race card 24/7. And every one of society’s dweebs do that same thing, trying to “outrage” their way to relevance and social validation.

“Im offended, and everyone deserves more stuff!” is your perpetual go-to. It’s all you ever say on here, and undoubtedly anywhere else. Do you really think that’s because it’s always true, or because you just dont have anything more nuanced to contribute?

Think about it.

San Antonio doesn't have a huge difference in climate than Houston and neither does Dallas. The differences are all very small - Texas is hot and humid everywhere. Same with traffic - every Texas city has it. Every Texas city also has urban sprawl. Again - not a differentiation really.

Not going to get in a Texas city comparison but San Antonio is good for visiting over a 2-3 day period. I grew up in the Dallas are and know its shortcomings - it is fake as ****. As an engineer that works in a relatively working class environment, it's hard not to cringe at. But I always have an absolute blast when I return for a visit.

Yeah, the unfortunate thing about some californians is they bring their shitty liberal politics over to Texas and never wonder why maybe that's why California became expensive and unlivable.

Homelessness is rampant, the city is straight up dirty, and the traffic is some of the worst you will literally ever encounter anywhere in the US.
Downtown area is gross and full of homeless people but when you get north of North Avenue up into midtown its a lot nicer.

The problem with Atlanta is its infrastructure. The metro area is in the same county with several high upper class suburbs who could give a fvck less about funds being allocated to improving roads/expanding MARTA/etc. Over half of the voters in the city don't actually live in the city and don't care so its hard to envision things improving, at least not until the Gulch redevelopments are complete.

It also doesn't help that the only highway through the city makes 2 literal 90 degree turns right downtown. Nothing can be done about that at this point tho so the traffic just is what it is.
