I think he will come out super motivated. He will fly. Really, I mean it. He will look like the best player in the NBA again.
And then... 15-20 games down the line something will snap. Something will break. I don't know if it's his body, the team... something else. But it won't end well. Will he come firing out the gates early next season? I'm sure he will. But it will not end well.
This year was just the start. It was only missing the playoffs. Next year is going to be a lot worse. Something major will happen.
You remember that game Kobe tore his Achilles? It wasn't his 1st injury that game let alone that season. It was his third... that game only. He could've stopped but he didn't. Something similar is going to happen to LeBron next year. It may not be an injury... but something that will break him and his myth.
What do I have to back this up? Nothing at all. Just a hunch.

If he came back next season with a chip on his shoulder, that would be best for lakers. Get that evil lebron activated

Depends on what we get in the off-season. I really hope we trade him if no one's willing to sign here to play with him. Just give him to the Clippers and give us Zubac back. Let us get Kawhi in FA and build a new dynasty.

He's method acting for Space Jam 2 - he loses his talent in it I'm convinced.
So he will resume his role until the movie Space Jam 2 comes out

lakers won't land a big name free agent and will be forced into giving out 1 year deals again. they will get better players and be much better at shooting. but sadly they will yet again suck at defense and end up with a .500 record or so. possibly will sneak into the playoffs with the 7-8 seed as lebron has a somewhat healthy season playing 71-73 games and only taking off back to backs
he will have another empty stat padded 27/7/7 type season and if he misses the playoffs again i think he will consider demanding a trade after the lakers fail to land anthony davis AGAIN
the lakers will send him back east to the knicks in exchange for zion ( or whoever has him ) after he has a slow disappointing rookie year
lebron will then finish out his contract chasing kareem and then sign a 1 year deal with cleveland to end his career

It doesn't matter what he does on offense, he's going to be a liability on defense.

It's a matter of focus. One can get super motivated in the moment, truly feel it, like when Lebron said he's entering playoff mode, but then it's the next day, the "bring it on" moment passed, and Kusma has to shove you to play defense.
That's the advantage Jordan has over anyone. He gets focused on one thing, and months later nothing else matters. (I wish I could enter such a state.)
Then you add the added distractions that Lebron is bringing into his life, trying to go Hollywood, music, movies, it's going to be tough.

Lol. Shit made me laugh for some reason.
Real talk though....if the next season consist of another toxic, emotional meltdown, dude will BOLT back to Cleveland to end his career after a sports illustrated piece.

you know those news about Kobe missing practices to make the actual games?
Lebron probably will still be making most of the practices but skipping out on actual in game coaching personnel adjustments
this method goes straight to the role of General Manager before it reaches ownership
cus really, 16 years in the league, what exactly are you missing, fool

Pissed off I'd imagine, because it's been open season for his detractors. I'd never bet against him to shut you all up again one last time, he's made an alltime great career doing so.

3/9 isn't doing a lot of shutting up when you jump from team to team to make superteams and fail short.... :facepalm

Lebron played with Shaq who won league mvp and 3 finals mvp's and lost in round 2. Lebron played with Peak Duncan who had won 2 league mvp's and 3 finals mvp's and won bronze medal. Lebron played with Peak Wade who won finals mvp and got outplayed by Jason Terry. Lebron played with Derrick Rose who won mvp under age 30 which was the same as Kevin Durant who won mvp under 30 while both were on Golden State and Cleveland. Lebron played with mulitple PER leaders as well and now Russell Westbrook a league mvp winner and more triple doubles than Oscar Robertson. Yet despite all of that Lebron lost with all of them.

http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?500416-Why-did-Pelinka-surround-Lebron-with-a-bullshit-roster
He has peak Anthony Davis, the best player on the 2020 squad and the reason the Lakers did anything as the 2019 Lakers missed the playoffs and 2021 Lakers lost in round 1 when AD wasn't around. He has Prime Melo who won a scoring title and all time leader in scoring for the Olympics. He has Dwight Howard a 3x DPOY and a guy who beat Lebron without HCA. He has Westbrook who is the modern day Oscar Robertson and also won league mvp along with average a Triple Double 4 years in a row. He also has Rondo who is a hall of famer.
Why didn't he play it against Dwight Howard in 2009 when Dwight was dominating http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?459570-How-is-it-even-possible-to-lose-to-Dwight-Howard-in-a-series-with-HCA/page10? Or against Duncan or KG or Dirk? Why did he run away from KD a guy at his position?

http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?494830-Difference-between-Lebron-and-Tmac
Both 0-2 with HCA against 50+ win teams until they joined forces with someone who won as the man. Also won bronze medals.
Tmac lost to Utah in 2007 while Lebron was losing to a career loser in Dwight Howard and also Carlos Arroyo in the Olympics with peak Tim Duncan on his squad despite playing more minutes than Hakeem even played on the 1996 Olympic team.

Lebron quit on the Cavs and they burned his jersey and held his family hostage. He also only won 1 title for the franchise that drafted him which is pathetic in 11 years. Imagine someone getting credit when they lose with Shaq and only get to round 2 and they lose with peak Duncan getting bronze medal.
