Westbrook isn't emo. There's a difference between being emo and volatile. Russ has always been fiery and does not take shit from fans.

No.

If the Jazz had 17,000 people attend, and let's just say 30% of them are employed, which it's obviously much higher than that but just for lulz... that's 5,100 people.

And let's say they all make $8 an hour, work 40 hour weeks, and work 52 weeks a year... that's $84,864,000 annually. Russell Westbrook is slated to earn $35,665,000 from his contract with the Thunder this season. He's also making roughly $18,000,000 in endorsements for a grand total of... $53,665,000.

$84,864,000 > $53,665,000. And the $84,864,000 was a wildly conservative number... so yeah, you're... you're wrong.

Not to mention the entire arena includes the staff and other players... at which point it becomes even more ridiculously stacked against Russell Westbrook. Plus, you'd have to include himself in the statement "entire arena"... not to mention, if the owner was there... yeah. You're wrong. So... wrong. SO WRONG.

the nba is letting its players get away with a lot and theyre no longer afraid of any serious punishment. we're an entire generation removed from the palace brawl. lately theres been a few fights and a ton of confrontations with fans. russell was about to beat up a kid for patting him on the arm. now hes threatening women... lebrons been openly racist. players are supposedly suffering from depression and mental illness. this is what happens when its an entitled group of spoiled brats. you created these clowns and now they need another strong stern moment where someone gets a year long ban ala ron artest

I've never felt entitled to anything. i never asked for any handouts or demanded any special treatment. i worked for 10+ years before getting inheritance at the expense of one of my favorite relatives lives. i never even knew i would get a dime till the day he died. i expected to be working for the rest of my life with no ideas of retirement in my future due to not having any ability to save or keep from gambling any extra money i had.

i love my life and never snap at anyone. am very calm and respectful towards others. i give generously to charity and tip inordinate amounts. i volunteer and spend hundreds every month on my friends hosting get togethers. i spread the wealth as they say.

i'm literally a saint in every sense of the word. my daughter was robbed from me and i'm not even selfish enough to ruin her life telling her the man she thinks is her daddy isnt because it could develop trust issues and suicide later on in life

He's gonna get fined and suspended. There's a reason you don't respond to heckling fans with violence or threats of violence. There's an image to maintain, both individually and league-wide, and this hurts both. He's one of the more recorgnized faces of the NBA brand and he should know better, it matters little if it's justified or he didn't really mean it.

That said, I hope the league issue bans to repeat offender fans who cross the line when it comes to heckling players eg bring players family/race into it.

Russ plays with his heart on his sleeve, that much is obvious.
But if you look at the situation overall, they are both in the wrong big time, word is the fan was talking about Russ' family, and Russ... it's live dude, just get him kicked out of the arena...

First of all, how does a person (fan/player/whatever) get off on insulting the family of someone they don't even know? That's just flat out trailer park attitude right there, go to some someones place of work and hit them with insults. Any fan who stoops this low should be banned from the arena. If he had gone up to a vendor in the arena and starting saying the same stuff to them, he'd be on the street or in a cell, but doing it to a player is fine apparently...

All that said, Russ knows he's on live TV, he gets heckled everywhere he goes, probably even at home, and he know's this is going to turn into a PR shit show for him... so I have to believe whatever the fan said to him was WAY over the top and he obviously felt obliged to defend his "honor" by barking back.

We've seen before where players get fans removed from the arena and that would have been the best way to go for Russ, but like I said, for all he's heard from fans, this fan must have said something extremely offensive to for Russ to go off like that on what he knows is live TV.

the leauge should have kicked those racists pieces of maga garbage out of the arena and ban them for life. utah has a very dark past with racism. mormon scriptures claim that dark skin is the result of sin.
Nobody defends the racist piece of shit. He should be banned for life. But its not Westbrook's job to get into altercation with him. Yet he does confront fans over and over again and not only in Utah. Sometimes its his family, sometimes its race, sometimes they took a photo of him, sometimes they celebrated in front of him... you wonder how there are 10 other black players in his team and somehow its always him who clashes with the crowd. The reason is simple, cause hes a fricken moron.

matt barnes said he would often hear racial slurs hurled at him, but this was more prevalent in utah.

not surprised russ lashed out. taunting is one thing, but taunting by stooping to the lowest means possible is not acceptable. and russ has had interactions where nba security has failed him, the 2 incidents that come to mind is the kid touching him and the fat guy that ran onto the court to scream in his face.

absolutely unacceptable. nba owes him an apology.
