No. Westbrook talks a lot of sh*t on the road. Fans are giving it back to him. I hate when someone can dish but can't take it.
If a fan goes racist he should just tell security to eject them.

A dude at the game said he did get racist. He dont know if it was him who said the n-word or someone in his group (family)
why would fans at the game lie? They gain nothing from it.If you say "attention" he could of got that saying westbrook was lying also.So i believe the majority + his past tweets...
Plus he was a cop...awww man some stories about to come out :applause: this MAGA p.o.s is about to get exposed

Do you have a link to that? Even if you're right I say ban the guy from NBA games forever. It's more of a punishment than Russ punching him in the face.

Utah fans are scum just obnoxiously racist..the same fanbase that made fun of dfish's sick daughter
That said, bball players in other parts of the world get paid way less and get shit on by opposing fans. Even get punched and get thrown all kinds of shit at their heads.
I'll vote no and i'm a westbrook guy.

I took a very similar point of view in my response in the other Russ thread.
Fans are essentially going to the players "place of work" and insulting them, there has to be a line... I'm not saying Russ's response was the right way to go about it, but I don't blame him for standing up for his family when a fan decides to go full trailer park boys with his heckling.
Russ will get fined for sure, but that fan should be banned from the arena, if he had verbally assaulted one of the arena staff like that, he'd be on the street or in a holding cell.
Players put up with a lot of verbal abuse from fans that just shouldn't happen. How do you think that guy (that you don't even know) would feel if you went to his workplace and starting talking crap about his family to him... sounds pretty stupid right... well, that's what he just did to Russ and fans do it all the time to players.
I completely agree with Russ that there needs to be consequences for fans going to far with verbal assaults, it's actually part of the "terms" you agree to when you use your ticket for the game, it just needs to be enforced more.

This is the worst part and maybe the reason the guy did it in the first place... not only is he getting a TV interview out of the whole ordeal, but he's doing while still in the arena he should have been thrown out of... marketing genius
How many more twitter followers does this guy have today...?

The reason they target Westbrook is because hes stupid and has a shit character. Tune out and stop engaging the fans you idiot. They are white noise. you are an entertainer so just go on about it and entertain. In Europe he wouldn't be able to leave the arena alive with that attitude, and it has nothing to do with racism, just sports passion and crowd mentality in general. Its part of the game.

Somebody was racist towards Eric Cantona? lol youre an idiot
He was just another spoiled, entitled, oversensitive bitch like Westbrook. And he got suspended for months for that. Nobody in his right mind does that. You don't engage the crowd. You stay quiet and then file a complaint that will have the fan identified and removed in the future. You do not single out members of the crowd and treat them as in everyday interaction. Its a crowd ffs.

I think Russ handled it the right way. If he complains to arena security, the worse thing that happens to the guy is he gets ejected from the game and gets a warning. Nothing to stop him from doing the same thing next time the Thunder come to SLC. Well, Russ fixed that. Dudes name and face are out there now. If Westbrooks version of what happened holds up, the guy will be banned from NBA games for life, and that will probably be the least of his worries.
The point is, buying a ticket to a sporting event does not give you the right to scream profanity and racist taunts for two hours. Nevermind Westbrook, there were other fans at that game, people who had also paid money for their tickets, and I doubt they appreciated having this clown screaming his insults practically in their ear. You expect heckling from the home crowd at a sporting event, but if this guy said what he's been accused of saying, then he went way over the line.

Reality is, there will be always fans like that whether you like it or not. Russ is going to deal with it for the rest of his nba career if he'll not change the way he handle situation like this.
Again, it comes with the territory.
Just like other celebrities, you are putting yourself out there, expect bashing and insults.

The fact is there are consequences to this shit. Russ is gonna get heat.
It is the corporations and their money that run shit. Any sign of negative publicity and they will start running. All the #metoo women will get a hold of this and it will turn into a shit storm. Ultimatley nobody gives a shit till money starts to dry up.
Look at the whole Colin Kaepernick situation. But in his case he only took a knee. Russ was threatening a white women. Shit could get real messy. Especially with Russ' track record of crowd related incidents. 60 years ago brothers were still getting lynched for less.
That being said, I voted yes. He should have beat that cracka and his wife. Take a stand Russ, but just be prepared for what will come next.

No one's supporting it you idiot. Point is that there was no physical violence. The issue with this thread is that some of you here seem to think that blatant racism is less insulting than WB saying he'll beat them up when he's clearly not in a position to do so.

The problem is this racist fan can just fade into nothing with his agenda all over the media, where is due to Russ' position and stature all the negative consequences will fall on him.

Westbrook didn't need to do anything, but he's played a bunch of games in Utah over the years and maybe those people have been heckling him for a while, the guy's twitter had some really hateful (not NBA-related) posts about him from last year as well. We don't know what caused him to snap at dude but it's likely this wasn't the first time.
The guy's a living stereotype of how the Left would describe MAGA and deserves to get his ass beat. 17 years as a cop and he acts like this? N bombs with the hard R on twitter?
