Before Pretty Hate Machine he was the keyboard player in the very poppy and 80's band Slam Bamboo :oldlol:

He played in some weird stuff before he decided to just do it all himself. There's only a few bits of Option 30 music out there and it's also weird.

You want to see weird, check out Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty, featuring Maynard James Keenan of Tool before Tool was a thing. That shit is just...

To me Ministry and NIN are always linked since they rose to popularity at the same time. The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste came out 1 month after Pretty Hate Machine, and they were both considered industrial bands. Pretty much everyone who listened to industrial liked both, although NIN eventually became so mainstream many stopped listening to them.

Here's Al Jourgensen in the early days

:oldlol:

Almost all the early industrial bands were originally cheesy 80s synth pop bands

After the made their metamorphosis

My uncle said he went a concert with Ministry, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Social Distortion and others, and he said Ministry blew them all away live. They had the crowd in a frenzy, even though Ministry's prime had past and Soundgarden PJ and RHCP were at the peak of the popularity. He said the crowd set part of the stadium on fire and were dancing around these fire creating whirlwinds of smoke. He said Soundgarden and Pearl Jam were so amazed they came to the edge of the stage just to watch the crazed mob in action. He said the fire department and security just stood by and watched the beverage stand and bonfires filled with blankets and clothes burnout without doing anything.
