This is actually a serious question and I think a fair comparison.
Which guy would you start a team with?
NO. AGENDAS.

If I have a top guard already and no PF/C I'll take Bosh. No guard, but PF/C? Parker. Quality is about the same, would take who fills my team's needs.

Tony Parker was an absolute killer on the offensive end. Dude was fearless and made HUGE plays, was fairly consistent as well.
However, he was never the defensive anchor that Chris Bosh was and Bosh was automatic on offense.

Parker definitely ranks higher, he has more rings, All-NBA teams, is top 10 in playoff scoring and won a FMVP, Bosh doesn't come close to that.
In terms of starting a team, that ones much more difficult. I don't think a team with either of them being their best/most impactful player is going to accomplish much, they'd probably be a fringe playoff team/first round exit at best. It's honestly too close to call, but if I HAD to choose, I'd probably go with Bosh. He can spread the floor with his shooting and was definitely a more impactful defender

What point guard ever was a defensive anchor?

I would have bet the farm that you would have picked Bosh.
The glaringly obvious answer is Tony Parker, but of course you tried to find a way...

I have no problem saying that Bosh was a very good pick and roll defender.. But his low post defense was atrocious.. He couldnt guard anyone down low.. Hibbert took him to school repeatedly and Duncan at an old age abused him..
[QUOTE] . Then James missed another three with seven seconds remaining, and it was in the books, as long as the Spurs got that pesky rebound. They didn

We're penalizing Bosh for getting outplayed by the undisputed greatest PF in history now.
Ok.
And at the end of the day, 2/9 without Bosh.

GOAT wise, I think both may be around the same areas for their respective positions. TP was a score first PG for a lot of his prime at a time when many of the elite PG's were still pass first guys. Guys like Kidd, Nash, young CP3, Billups, etc. But seven years of putting up at least 20 PPG and six dimes to go with 4 rings, 4 All NBA teams, and six All Star games gives TP edge on Bosh GOAT wise. He's just more decorated in every way other than All Star Games. But for me both could be ranked in that top 15-20 area GOAT wise for their respective positions though.
Skill for skill, Bosh was is one of the more skilled PF's of all time. Not as dominant as Timmy, KG, Barkley, Dirk, Chuck, or Mailman. BUT in terms of all skills on both sides of the rock (scoring skillset, rebounding, defense, etc.), he could ARGUABLY be a top 10 PF of all time peak-prime wise.

It's close.
Parker wins in titles and longevity.
Bosh has better peaks (Parker prime years were playing within Pop system, might have averaged better numbers elsewhere).
IMO Parker's higher due to longevity and also being great for his National team as leader and first option.

The scary part about Bosh's career is that he was an 11 time All Star and WAS DONE at 31 years of age due to his health condition. His game and skillset was built to age damn good too. Earlier, I said Bosh was likely a top 15 caliber GOAT PF. BUT the more l think about it, he could be a top 10 GOAT PF. I would take these PF's FOR SURE ahead of him GOAT wise:
Timmy
Mailman
Dirk
KG
Chuck
Petitt
McHale
Hayes
Rodman
But after these guys, what PF FOR SURE would u take over Bosh GOAT wise?? C Webb had a better peak. BUT Bosh had two rings and double the All Star game appearances. I consider Bosh and Pau on the same level peak wise. Me personally, I lean a bit to Bosh though. And Bosh has double the All Star games and just as many rings. He was a better player peak-prime wise than Dave D. And had just as many rings and way more All Star Games. And the guys like Amare and Kemp don't have the longevity. And guys like AD, Giannis (if he stays at PF), Blake, and Draymond don't have Bosh's resume yet.

This:lol . Bosh made Hibbert look like an unstoppable force regularly, along with any other heavier big with a decent post game. Would get bullied on the boards to.
I'm taking TP.

Rings are pretty irrelevant as a comparison point IMO. How many other top PF’s ever played with two all-nba players simultaneously?
Bosh isnt winning any rings without LeGOAT. He was a third option. Those rings dont give him standing over any other great.

As a personal preference, Tony Parker. He was truly unique as a player with how freakin elite he was at finishing (even leading the whole damn league in points in the paint for a year or two). In his heyday, I didn't really care too much for scoring point guards, but his speed and skill won me over.
That, and he was always a big time gamer. Some guys you hate it when the game gets to a point where they decide to take over and maybe launch an ill-advised or quick shot, but Tony picked his spots at doing this as well as any player ever. He almost always delivered when that switch got flipped. His ability to keep the game from slipping away or to match the other team's superstar bucket for bucket at the end of games is something I feel gets overlooked.
