'06 I actually do agree he was arguably the most deserving. '07, he's not MVP winning just 42 games while Dirk took a team without another top 15-20 player in the league to 67 wins. kobe deserved 03, 06 and 07 for the same reasons MJ won in 88 and westbrook won in 2017


kobe did historic things during those seasons

2003 he broke the all time single game 3 point record. had 9 straight 40 point games. was basically a one man show with shaq out.

2006 he dropped 81. 62 in 3 quarters outscoring the wcf champs. averaged 35+ppg and took kwame/smush to the playoffs

2007 he had 10 games of 50+, 4 games of 50+ in a row with 2 games of 60 sandwiched in...averaged 33ppg and had another 1 man show kwame/smush dragging to the post season


of course dirk won it via regular criteria. but exceptions are made for historic performances.


even harden was front runner for mvp when the rockets were in 8th place this year


plus dirk wasnt 1st team all defense to go with it
