i think the east and lebrons stat padding/roids did most of the work and the media just bought into it


they all go to bed at 8:30-9pm so they can wake up 4 hours before their morning shows and all they have time to do is look at box scores. so they thought lebron was historically great and didn't give his numbers any real context


they'd see a block or 2 and decided he was a great defensive player

they'd see his percentages and thought he was a great shooter

they saw his triple doubles and thought he was a great all around player when in fact it was just him stagnating the offense and slacking off on defense cherry picking.


it was their poster child after kobes off court problems and they also know it gets ratings talking about the guy cause people hate lebron


its the same reason nick wright has a job. people dislike the guy so much people actually tune into his morning show to hear his prepubescent whiney voice cry about lebron



but now that zions on the way and giannis looks promising they know theres viable replacements for their guy. now they're turning on him and using him as a human pin cushion because they no longer have kobe to be that guy. can't make fun of durant either with him winning all the time.
