Let's say you are the:

Lakers
Knicks
Mavericks
Hawks
Bulls
Cavs
Wolves

Etc...

And you land the 1# overall pick, only to have the Pelicans call you and offer a swap, Davis for the Pick.

Do you do it?
I mean, Davis is a generational talent and a proven two-way superstar.
But,

Do you take it or leave it?

I would say no for my Wolves because I really don't see Davis and KAT coexisting well.

No. AD is a bitch.

if i am magic johnson, i will take anthony davis.

davis is a great teammate, focused, dedicated and decent human being.

there's literally 0 negative news about this man except requested to be traded.
dont forget, even his teammate told him to leave and stop wasting times with pelicans.

Depends on the team. I think they're close enough as talents that this is the right answer.

AD gets injured a little too much for my liking. Not a good sign when you haven't been close to a full season in the league despite being around as long as he has. Zion strikes me as extremely durable outside of the crazy exploding shoe incident.

If I'm the Lakers and I somehow win the lottery, I'm trading Zion for AD.

Williamson doesn't fit our team because we lack shooting as it is and Davis will likely be better for the next 3 years at least and we're confident that AD would re-sign here. No-brainer to me.

Davis turned out to be a quitting coward that couldn't function without a super team.

Zion hasn't done that yet.

So Zion.

If I'm the Knicks I end this culture of trading picks away if they land Zion. Build through the draft and you'll soon have a team like the Sixers. Zion is a generational talent. You don't trade that.

Even if no FA's come New York's way, they'll be in prime position to snatch up the next superstar in Anthony Edwards in next year's draft.

Tough call here. If I had to make the decision today I would go with Zion. That could change if he has a bad stint during March Madness.

As usual in life, these sort of questions are context-dependent.

It depends on what team you're drafting Zion for, and how close to playoff contention your team is.

If you're the Lakers, you trade Zion for Anthony Davis because you have James on the team. You need to extend his remaining prime years (if any) with an proven All-Star.

If you're the Knicks, you keep the pick and build around Zion. You have cap room for free agents this summer.

So on and so forth.

Zion's quickness at 265lbs would be scary. And if he can develop a jumper.

AD as a first option is a bitch, he doesn't have it in him.

I don't like Zion too much but he looks like he has more alpha and fire than AD has ever had.

Green does the trade
Red does not

Nobody is risking 1yr of AD rental unless if you know he will stay long-term. He will certainly stay if he goes to Lakers and Knicks too. Personally if I was Knicks, I would keep Zion because he will be there for probably 6-7 years minimum guaranteed, and you can build whole team around him without any worries of him possibly leaving in summer. Why deal with the needless pressure and drama?

Anthony Davis all the way

Yeah as of now I would still take AD.

Can shoot and score well, also very good defensively.

As a pels fan, id take this trade with fillers since davis will do better on other teams.

knicks - possibly team up with durant and irving
lakers - with lebron

Either way, no doubt he will extend on those teams, maybe with dallas also.

on the other hand, we can rebuild with zion plus our own lottery pick. resign payton, we still have randle, jrue.

c - randle
pf - zion
sf - lottery draft pick / free agent
sg - jrue
pg - payton

bench: okafor, moore, kenrich williams, clark, jackson and probably trade filler acquisitions

Maybe the comissioner gifts us the the no. pick due to Davis trade request.
