He's got nothing to play for atm and so has the greenest of lights. It's all about numbers at this point. Might as well go after Kobe's record (say against MJ's team at home) and call it a season par excellence!

It's an interesting premise, and one I hadn't thought of until now.

I definitely think he could if he truly wanted to. Much like I think Curry or Klay or KD could if they wanted to as well. But, doing it as a Laker is obviously a much bigger accomplishment.

Not a bad theory, OP :applause:

You have the wrong James.

In today's NBA I'm pretty sure he'd have at least 3-4 80+ games if the opportunity arose - even the 81 point was mostly due to the opportunity of being behind and the Raptors foolishly playing man on him, allowing him to do what Harden gets to do on the daily. He scored 60 his last game and that was the only game post-Achilles where he was playing like he was 27. But that style of play should only be done out of necessity.

I think Heat LeBron could if he wanted to because he had a very good 3 ball and was in way better shape, don't think this current version of LeBron can do it. Have to be able to shoot inside/out and draw fouls at a high rate for both and LeBron at this stage probably can't do that

Dude, lebron could NEVER get 80 because he can't shoot

all high scoring games require a lot of jumpshots.. no one ever dropped 50 or 60 without a ton of jumpers - that's why lebron barely has any, let alone 80..

True, Harden should go for it!

LeBron has nothing left to prove, he surpassed Kobe ages ago

Thing is Klay had a legitimate shot at 80 and Kerr sat him in the fourth that 60 point game in 29 minutes.

Peak LeBron could never drop 81 in any era.

How tf did I miss a Jordan fan saying LBJ can't shoot :lol

Let me know when LBJ shoots 18% from 3. MJ is a modern DeMar okay? Get it?

lebron doesn't have the stamina nor the ability to pass up padding his assist/rebound totals

he would rather get a 40 point triple double and lose

Don't forget Kobe averaged 20 wins for 3 year straight now. You're getting a little out of hand :lol

Harden HAS been going for it. He's not good enough to do it.
