This is also like asking if Stephen Curry is the greatest 6'3" or under player. I've bolded the greater value for the stat comparison.

Jerry West's averages: 27 points, 5.8 rebounds, 6.7 assists, probably 3-4 steals, and a blocked shot.

Jerry West's totals: 25,192 points, 5,366 rebounds, 6,238 assists, who knows for steals and blocked shots, many people think he'd be the all-time steals leader by a wide margin, and he'd certainly have more blocked shots than Curry.

Stephen Curry's averages: 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.7 steals, 0.2 blocked shots.

Stephen Curry's totals: 16,103 points, 3,079 rebounds, 4,543 assists, 1,189 steals, 150 blocked shots.

Of course not..

Without the Warriors system Steph would be regarded as just a poor mans Dame Lillard whose a slightly better shooter but worse everywhere else

His career numbers speak for themselves. He's nowhere near an all-time great player

23ppg.. average passer for a PG... doesn't cut the mustard

Not to mention an abysmal choker on the big stage... West was much better on the big stage despite only winning 1 championship

Just another example of why ring count means jack shit

Sorry, I'm not sure what West's Finals averages are, they're probably pretty hard to get.

Curry doesnt have enough finals losses to be considered great. Im pretty sure the threshold is 6.

West gets the edge in longevity and being an old-timer, Curry will surpass him when it's all said and done

Won't be mad with either option, those Celtics were way more stacked than the Warriors of this decade so the finals record is more justifiable but kind of ironic calling him Mr. Clutch :lol

West averaged 30 ppg over 9 finals, the majority against the Celtics. His playoff average is 29.1.
