Mayor in Netherlands confused why ______ won't use custom bridge

It's been 3 years since some mayor in Netherlands received funds to make a bridge across a highway just for.... wait for it......































































squirrels. Yes, squirrels.

Only 5 squirrels used it from 2012-2016. No one figured to ask the million dollar question:

"How will the squirrels know that the bridge is for them to use"

But according to the mayor, it was not a waste of money.

It's quite common to create a passage for them along long stretch of highway. It's usually an underpass though. Maybe they went for a bridge because they were expecting larger animals.
