That midrange game. For all the moves in his scoring reportoire, as a signature move nothing comes to my mind first than his wraparound pass. No one does it quite like him, maybe Nash, but not quite. You see it in highlight reels and you think yup, that's Kobe.

Anyway, this performance effectively ended Larry Bird's successful but short 3-year stint as a head coach (think he won CoY in his first season) and had a very good winning % during that span. Unfortunate that he stepped away for good, but knowing how competitive he is and how much he hates losing, maybe one one should find it that surprising.

Doug Collins around the 3:10 mark says "midrange shot is sort of a lost art, it's either a 3 or a shot at the basket..." Surprised to hear this way back in 2000 since it didn't feel like that when I watched growing up...Some of these old coaches must have heart attacks watching teams today.

How nice is that pivot through at 2:11?

Smooth as hell.
