He made it in due to the cultural impact of his career. Which I believe guys should make it in for. It’s called Hall of FAME, not Hall of the Very Best Players.

If it was called the latter, however, Yao would not qualify.

I think OP does know that, even coaches, referees, commentators do get into the HOF in different categories, right??

Not saying this directly as a response to this topic in particular, but I think I someday should post a page laying out the different categories that exist in regard to making the Hall. I think many fans don't realize how they work.

Basketball HOF by far the weakest of any major sport, I will take every opportunity I can to bash it.

They allow women, international "stars" who were mediocre at best in the NBA, executives and other admin types that never played the game and all other types of losers.

I fully expect Spounalis to make HOF.
