I feel like Curry will not get his due respect till he has been retired for a few years. Curry is in uncharted territory right now :biggums:

His insane offensive ability to hit shots of that difficulty + consistency is unmatched and is absolutely under rated. We have become so desensitized to Curry's scoring. Sure his game doesn't completely translate well deep into the playoffs when defenses tighten up and you need a safe basket but that shouldn't negate his uniquely dominant offensive ability.

This was probably Curry's coming out game, at that time him hitting those shots was UNSEEN by pretty much anyone ever. Now we don't look twice. I hope he gets recognized for how much he changed the game.

I disagree that his game doesn't translate.

He put up like 26/6/5 on good efficiency in the first finals he won and we acted like it was a disappointment. In reality he should have been runaway FMVP.

Even last year. 28/6/7... Would have got finals MVP if not for one shitty game.

He rarely has a bad series. The only one being 2016 in the finals.

The thing is though, his efficiency in the playoffs is average, not his normal godlike season efficiency.

He wasn't dominant enough in 15' to leave no question about MVP, and he wet the bed in 16' when it mattered most to that franchise (close out the historic 73-win season and not need KD)

And the last 2 years he had KD, so he's never gotten another opportunity to show he can dominate the Finals as "the man"

The verdict is basically in - he's a top tier player, but not top top like KD, prime Kobe, etc.. and big-game players like kyrie outplay him
.

Taking 12 threes a game shooting 43% is just nuts. He takes shots that would be considered bad shots for almost everyone but still makes them routinely.

Steve Nash was a great shooter but he wasn't taking the crazy shots that Curry takes. Curry is averaging 28 ppg like it's nothing.

In the playoffs Curry's career average is 26 ppg with a TS of 60.6%. I think his game translates pretty well.

If you check his numbers before Durant they were pretty bad comparatively speaking (to regular season production).

The way people who "analyze" basketball that don't consider Curry as the best player is primitive. He is and has been the best player in the league the past 5 years and it should be obvious to anyone remotely objective.

But if you idiots wanna play that game then it's gonna be hilarious AF if KD wins a 3rd FMVP and that narrative goes out the window

What narrative? That Durnat has always been better than Beta Curry? :lol

Curry is collecting Robert Horry/Steve Kerr type rings right now, I guess that's better than nothing :confusedshrug:

Curry is collecting resume building and legacy defining rings. When he's on that Mt. Rushmore with MJ, Bird, and Magic it is going to be one helluva day.

Durant joined his team remember. He doesnt care about FMVP and it makes y'all so angry. But when he shows off ring #4 this June then you guys will really have to work hard to spinzone that one

The concept of "alpha rings" as I see it used is more of a holdover from the Jordan era that trained many to think that the example he set is what a great player looks like. Steph is so original though that he defies the Jordan model yet he is inarguably successful. Steph is the closest thing to a Bill Russell-like great since Russell's dominance in the 60s. It is a mark of just how great Curry is that he sets his own standards and is the basis of a different model.

Now you are just being an idiot. When were Horry or Kerr their teams leading scorer in the Finals? How about 2nd leading scorer?

Curry averaged 26 ppg in the Finals without Durant. He shot 38% from 3 for the series in spite of going 3-15 in game 2.

That's a fair take to some degree but do you honestly think he would have the same impact if you swapped Curry and LeBron from GSW to CLE? :lol

It sounds good until you realize well hey wait, where else would he fit in this well? I agree Curry would fit well with ANY team, but he needs a lot around him to be impactful and the Warriors are HIS perfect fit.
