Just curious. A car says a lot about you. Whether it's a beat down car or a fine luxury, sporty, coupe.

I'm too tall for cars. **** that shit now and forever unless I can't afford a truck.

Getting in and out of my previous cars was awkward as ****. Yeah, there was enough leg room while driving... no problem... but just physically getting in or out was awkward...

I can just slide right in and slide right out with no effort w the truck. It's ****ing great.

big IF. the way the economy is going, the construction industry is cutting back on future proposed projects. that's usually how developers are when they suspect a downturn is on the horizon. :(

my tacoma has served me well thus far, but the max tow limit is 6k lbs, and i've towed near as much, but with very little confidence bc the brakes and it being a small lightweight truck. i need a full size truck.

The Raptor has the same tow capability of a Tacoma :biggums: you don’t buy that truck to tow. It’s a glorified mall crawler :oldlol:
it's 8,000lbs for the Raptor, and that's a conservative figure bc it's configured for off-roading, aka the shocks aren't for towing. but it;s still way better than the Tacoma bc it has way bigger brakes and a superior engine, 500ft lbs of torque.

for reference, a 3500 truck that is built to tow 15,000 lbs has a torque of 500-700ish.

glorified mall crawler? lmao, maybe bc the people that buy it don't off road, but it's capable. i mean, 80mph through desert whoops capable.

Full carbon, ultegra components & 15-16 pounds (7.4 kg)... i easily maintain ~25 mph (40 km/h) for hours, so a 15-20 min commute is faster than that, bursts of 30-45 mph happens, can go 45-50+ mph with it easily downhill (which i have on the way to work, its small but gives a nice boost of mph i can then maintain easily), i leave all the fancy cars in the dust in traffic as i commute, used to be one of those folks aswell, now i chuckle at them..... i get to work or any places in the city FASTER than with a car....

You all should try a real road bike once in your lives, its unbeliavable how easy / light / efficient it is to go fast with (and so much ***ing fun).... i knew they were fast but always thought you had to still work for it, that it was more like a workout thing, NOPE... infact its made for the laziest people, you pedal down just once and it will keep rolling forever.... and if you push it, oh my.... the energy/force you waste pedaling on your normal bike converted into a road bike you will be going extremly fast....

Combine that with the fantastic bike lanes we have in Scandinavia and how flat it is (Denmark/Sweden) its a blast.

Depends on the state. In California I wouldn't be able to pull it off but here in Ohio there is a loophole where you just send in receipts that you purchased $5k+ worth of modifications into the Ohio DMV and you are then eligible for collectors plates. Doesn't take much to pass the $5k mark. My coil overs alone are $1500. Vehicles with collectors plates are exempt from emissions. Now technically you are only supposed to be driving these cars to and from car shows, but no one enforcing the law gives a shit. If a cop is going to pull me over it's to ask me what all I got done to the car and talk shop.

Sold my 2007 Ford Fusion AWD back in August and got a 2007 4Runner Limited with the V6. Didn't want the V8 because of two reasons. I don't need the power and when you have to change the starter on the V8, it's a bitch because you have to take the top of the engine manifold off. Also I guess a third reason is the V6 runs off a timing chain, the V8 is a timing belt. Chains > belts.

Looks exactly like this. Same rims, except I took the stock rims off, sanded and painted them glossy black with a glossy clear coat. It has 150,000 miiles on it, I plan on having it for at least 300,000 miles as those engines go that far and 400,000 a lot of times.

I just had my first winter in it and it was a blast. No issues at all and it only had all-season tires on it. I was going to get some winter-rated all-season tires for it, but the tires it came with were almost brand new so I wanted to go at least one winter in those and it went through 8 inches+ of snow just fine with no plowed roads.

You made a great choice getting the 4runner, although IMHO the v8 is the superior engine. The v8 in this generation of 4runner is the same V8 that you get in the land cruiser (the most reliable and all-around greatest off-road vehicle of all time). Also this generation of 4runner was the only time that this truck was offered with a v8, so long term I think the value of the v8 models is going to be significantly higher than the more common v6 models just due to rarity.

Anyway, my 4runner is getting close to 250k mi, but it still runs like it did back at ~70k when I bought it. In the ~180k miles I have owned this truck its never once left me stranded... and they werent particularly easy miles.

I know people tout the v8 as the better engine, but I didn't want it. I don't want the extra power. I perfer maintaining the v6. I don't have to worry about a timing belt and the stater on the v8 is nightmare to change since you have to take the top manifold off. The v6's starter is accessed through the driver side wheel well. Also changing out plugs is way easier on the v6.

I know the v8 is a better performing engine and will usually last longer, but as I said. I don't want to deal with the headaches of it's weird design since I'm the one maintaining it.

Around here the body rusts out before the engine dies. There were a couple I looked at before I bought this one that lived through 10-15 Wisconsin winters and on one of them the cross suspension front bar was rusted and almost cracked in half. lol

Yeah thats rough. I am lucky to live in an area where it rarely drops below freezing, and in the rare occasions that it does drop that low, the roads never get salted anyway. Its not uncommon to see reliable vehicles like Toyotas and Hondas that are 30+ years old around here... one of my best friends has a 1985 4runner that is nearly flawless, like it just rolled out of the factory.

I love tinkering with vehicles and have done several performance upgrades to the Silverado like a cam, headers, exhaust, etc.... It is not that I drive fast I just like to know it is there if I need it. I have bought my wife three new cars in time I have owned this truck. She currently is driving a 2020 Toyota Camry.

Cars are terrible investments. I always buy used Toyotas or Hondas in good condition, something practical and reliable. My dick is of decent size so I don't need to compensate with a flashy car.

:applause:Good for you. I feel the same. Unless I'm swimming in dough, I'm not buying a new car again. My wife and I have a used 2012 Pilot and a 2015 Accord. My dad gave me his 1990 Toyota pick up. I don't have much issues with them.

(Looking up Tesla right now)

The most recent science studying the connection between dong length and car ownership shows that Tesla owners have schlongs that are above average in size... which is a very impressive stat when you consider that there are huge numbers of d1ckless soyboys who are bringing down the overall average dong size for Tesla owners.

Not that it matters, but in case anyone was wondering (no doubt that many of you are) ... my member is so massive that I am personally able to cancel out at least 3-4 of the microdong libtards who are undermining the dong size of the average Tesla owner... you can thank me later

Looking into a 2015-2018 Volkswagen GTI hard.

My only other option is the Subaru WRX 2016-2018 models but the interior is so trash.

Ive increased my price range from $10K to $25K just to get something nicer. These private dealerships are trying to nickel and dime me for everything let alone they're high milage or entry trim for the GTI.

Some part of me wants to wait a little longer until I seal a deal but another part of me wants to just get a used sub $7K car and call it a deal.

For those familiar with the GTI, if I opt into it, I'm looking to go stage 1-2, do a Golf R replica headlights, divertervalve, change tires and rims, and a tune up. I'm looking primarily at white. I seen an MK7.5 for $25K in CT, white silver metallic with OEM roof rack with only 11K miles. I've been calling them and no one gives me a call back. Almost like they don't want a deal and I've been dealing with this for over a month where these crooked salesmen don't want to lose a penny.

i heard the engine on that thing, it's still a v6. they will probably just pair it with a hybrid engine to add some extra oomph. doesn't seem like something i will wait for. this 2nd gen raptor is honestly one of my all time favorite vehicles. it's beautiful inside and out and i live in the desert, there's tons of trails to explore with this truck. i can't wait until i have a day off from work to hit up a trail....a cooler with some beer and and waters...i'll be out in the desert all day going 85mph through big whoops

Any truck with leaf springs will do if you're planning to let it carry heavy stuff in the bed. Don't get the ones with coil springs.

It comes in auto as well, I have it in auto because I deal with bumper to bumper traffic from Queens to the Bronx and back daily. However, manual in this car has no limits in terms of tuning

Oh i forgot i was actually talking about the wrx sti, the top-end impreza with a turbocharged 2.5l which went head to head against the lancer evolution. It's a very fast car once you floor its throttle. But yes, traffic is a big reason why autos sell like hotcakes nowadays.

Yep, the STI is only in manual. For the WRX, there's three stages of tunes you can do. Once you get to stage 2-3, it will be quicker than an STI.

Sucks what happened to the EVO.

Actually i get confused about how subaru lists the trims for the impreza. But anyway, you do get my point. The one I'm referring to is also the fastest, the one that has 300-ish hp 2.5l with stick shift. And yeah, the evo is long gone now. Mitsubishi has been in shambles and focused their attention on vehicles that are less desirable. I think the brand will eventually fold in the long term.
