Winning championships on the back of an undersized shooter was unheard of. Dude was hitting threes like layups. Exploited the line no one before and changed the Math of the game.

All i can think of is Wilt..they altered the size of the key to make it harder for him to score.

Daryl Morey actually changed the math of the game. Curry just popularized with fans.

And lol at unheard of. Ever hear of Isiah Thomas?

No Steve Nash changed the way the game is played more than Curry

Nash paved the way for all the top point guards today, Curry,Trae,Kyrie, Lillard all based their games around the way he played

The high uptempo pace and space style basketball from todays game is all influenced from the Nash/D'antoni Suns teams

Imagine the game changing because of you, then everyone saying the game is dying because everyone shoots 3s? Curry stays holding this L.

Mark Price was doing that shit when Nash was in diapers. Go outside.

Nash was a great player but he didn't take a lot of 3s. For his career he averaged 3 attempts per game from 3. You can't attribute the emphasis on 3 point shooting to Nash.

Curry is currently taking 12 3s per game. He took 8 3s during his first MVP season in '14/'15.

During that season Atlanta led the league in 3 pt attempts at 25.8. The average team took 22.5 attempts per game

http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/team/_/stat/defense-per-game/sort/avgThreePointFieldGoalsAttemptedOpponent/year/2015

Last season every team but 2 took more than 26 threes per game. The huge increase in 3 pt attempts can clearly be traced to Curry's first MVP season.

Price took 5 3s per game back in 1990. He was way ahead of his time. He would be scary in today's game of little contact.

No he wasn't

Those 80s Cavs teams don't play nothing like the teams today

The game was a lot slower back then and Mark Price never led a GOAT tier offense like Nash did

Nash was the first player under 6'5 to run a top tier offense as the teams best player that's a fact

Harden

He has shot the most threes ever by one player in a season...yet also leads the league in free throw attempts...that shouldn't be possible.

There's a difference between a GM imaging something and a player single handedly going out there and revolutionizing the game with his combination of insane shooting skill + range + difficulty + efficiency + consistency and actually performing it.

Curry is sick no dought but he didn't revolutionize the game. It's just not true. Daryl Morey came up with the analytics of why it's better to shoot alot of threes. No he didn't do it himself but the rockets as a team did before Steph and the warriors did. That's a fact. The reason why all these teams shoot a crazy amount of threes is because of Daryl Morey. I know it's not sexy but it's the truth

Yes Steph and the warriors did it way better and curry made it popular with fans but he didn't revolutionize the game.

Man I know differing opinions are healthy but I don't know how anyone can watch the game of basketball and say Curry didn't change the game.

a lot of people (including myself) sees it as a big negative impact. People chucking up three's. Fast break three's. The team with the most three's wins.

Basketball is not supposed to be a precision sport. If this is the direction it is heading, expect more China players to enter the game. No one beats China on precision sports.

take away the three's, Curry's not even that great of a shooter

How did be change the game though exactly. He's not responsible for the league shooting more threes. It's a fact that it was Daryl Morey and the rockets. That's not my opinion it's a fact. I can give you data and articles if you don't believe me. So if curry isn't responsible for the teams shooting more threes how exactly did he change the game?

I'd credit the Suns and D'Antoni more than the Rockets. Non-players have had a greater impact on the game than players if we're talking about to what extent they changed how to play it. Red Auerbach's gotta be the GOAT of that.

If we're going to go by players then it's something like, Wilt, MJ and Shaq. Then Russell, Kareem. Then a whole buncha guys before we get to Curry.

Dantoni has definitely impacted the game also. Like you said lots of non players have. I was talking more about the three ball specifically. Dantoni and Phoenix we're around the top in the league for threes but they weren't taking any more than top teams in previous seasons. Because of Moreys philosophy the rockets now shoot almost twice as much as teams shot before he took over as gm for the rockets.
