RIP to a good dude. I admired a lot of things about him. I don't pay attention to too many rappers he was one of the good ones.

Didn't even listen to too much of his music just saw his interviews and his mindset and he was doing big things trying to empower people investing in his neighborhood and pushing and launching STEM programs for the kids in his neighborhood, which is sorely needed in ALL "hoods" across the U.S.

Right, but if you’ve done things to people back when you were gangbanging, they don’t just forgive and forget that stuff just because you’re not banging anymore now that you’re making money in the entertainment industry.

We don’t really know what happened, but an educated guess is that somebody he or his people have wronged in the past happened to catch him out in the open unprotected and took the opportunity to get revenge.

Again, that’s just a guess. For all we know it was over a money dispute with a business partner or something totally non gang related. However, the fact that it doesn’t appear to be over would suggest it is gang related.

He had a meeting with government officials the day he was shot regarding how to best address gang violence and create opportunities in those communities. The LAPD may not have regarded him as an ally, but they certainly saw him as someone they could work with to address some of the violence and criminality taking place in the communities for which he was advocating. It doesn't seem like they are faking it. It's possible, but unlikely.
