People have forgotten they have an uber talented 6 10 wing guy in michael porter.
Any nuggets fans know how his rehab is doing? May have that ben Simmons like impact 2nd year. Hes a scorer too.
Denver looks to be scary indeed.

I highly doubt Porter would be a factor anyway next year. Dude's been injured for 2 years now and no way the Nuggets give him a big workload out of the gate. Plus Denver has a lot of depth.
But a few years from now if he pans out....

Everything I've read suggests he's looking good. Just no point in him playing this season. I've seen videos of him shooting and he looks good. Going to be a big wildcard for the future.
I think what makes the Nuggets scary is how injured they've been. At one point we were down 3 starters. Were such a young roster right now, Denver's just getting started. Should be a HC team going forward. I think to be truly "scary" we'd need another star. Either from a trade, MPJ developing into one, or Murray taking another step. He just turned 22 so not impossible Murray can become a 20+/5/5 guy.

He was supposed to be the top guy in his class ahead of Ayton and Bagley.

He's not even gonna play next season dude. Maybe at the end of the season, but wont be in NBA form in time for the playoffs so probably not.

He's supposed to play next year. He's already practicing abit and by all accounts everything's went well. He's been doing 3 vs 3's and stuff like that. I don't think there's alot of contact or anything but still getting in reps. Nuggets are just being cautious with him and everyone knew he wasn't going to play this season. It's more about waiting for him to regain all of his athleticism and not hurting the longevity of his career.
I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him play in the summer league.

The MPJ situation is the type that if he works out and is good as advertised, then all of a sudden you have a real championship contender on your hands. One of the smartest high risk moves made in the NBA recently, in my opinion.

Are they scary this year though? Or will they fizzle out come playoff time?

They can beat any team that ain't the Warriors. Problem is the entire West (except GS) is capable of losing to any of the other 6 teams.

I agree they may take it easy on him in the beginning, but we have seen a bunch of top prospects sit out the first year and come out in beast mode year two... that one year just being in the professional environment is so valuable to young players.
As long as he can get healthy, the year with the Nuggets combined with the fact he was supposed to be one of the best players in the draft and, I can definitely see him being a "factor" in the Nuggets success next season.

They are really good, and should probably be scary, but their total lack of playoff experience is the one thing that keeps coming up as their potential downfall.

You can't teach natural ability and size. I'm actually rooting for the kid. He was highly touted and if he's even healthy by 2020-2021. Most of that core is under 27 years old now.
