The movie is certainly about the Joker's beginnings, and that's what most of us have never been exposed to.

Interesting to see they brought Brett Cullen back to play Thomas Wayne, when he starred in the Dark Knight as a Congressman. Like that won't confuse some people....geez.

i hated the dark knight specifically because of heath ledgers over the top joker... seemed like he was trying too hard and wasn't himself.

this one seems more believable

It's about damn time:cheers:I still need to watch Shazam, heard nothing but good things about it. I think DC said fk building a universe and wants to focus on building up single characters, which they should've been doing. People care more if they see characters struggle and grow in a contained story.

You're in the minority, but it's your opinion. To me, Heath Ledger's Joker was legendary. When you look at his Joker and notice his mannerisms, hear the way he talks and laughs, you don't think of Heath Ledger one bit. That's what makes his Joker so special. He BECAME the Joker. He was so dedicated to perfecting the role that he locked himself in his hotel room for a month and practiced the voice, the laugh, and the mannerisms. Safe to say he ended up doing a damn good job. That's why his portrayal as the Joker is regarded as one of the best acting performances ever.

Until further notice, Heath Ledger is still the king.

I'm just interested enough to watch it at least once.

The comics tried variations on Joker's origin story and I found them all, even Killing Joke, to be fairly ineffective. My favorite iterations of Joker always had him plopped down as a full blown psycho right from the get go with no need for any lead in story. Just dial the crazy up to 10 and watch everyone around him have to deal with it.

Well Joaquin Phoenix is legendary so it should be great.

Of all the actors of his generation, I think Phoenix is the one to whom you cannot say no. And they're cultivating the character for further projects, but I still want to see what John Lithgow or Willem Dafoe would do with it - even now.

Meh, DC has put out absolute crap since the abysmal Man of Steel other than a well made Wonder Woman movie. I would not expect this one to be any better than the rest of the trash.
