Several current and former players are constantly weighing in on the conversation and Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant is the latest to give his opinion. In a recent appearance on Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles' podcast, "Knuckleheads," Durant said that he believes that Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Magic Johnson make up his top five as far as the greatest NBA players of all-time go.
"Mike (Jordan), obviously at one. Kobe (Bryant) two. Shaq (O'Neal) three. Hakeem (Olajuwon) four. Magic (Johnson)," Durant said during the interview.

"I'm looking at it from a pure skill standpoint," KD explained. "It's a toss-up. (Hakeem is) more my taste though."
So, what about LeBron James?
"I like to put these dudes in there when they retire," the reigning two-time NBA Finals MVP explained. "That's when I really want to evaluate their careers."

KD is a bit of an emotional retard. I mean, he literally can't form any coherent arguments and his story changes from moment to moment.
You can't argue that your list is based on skill and then have Shaq in your top 5. Shaq was skilled... but what he really was, was supremely athletically talented...
KD is not including LeBron because deep down he wants to be LeBron and he is beyond incredibly jealous... this is why he played as LeBron on 2k for literally years.
Kobe's play fell off a cliff as his athleticism waned. Kobe is the most overrated player in the history of the sport when speaking about skill. Meanwhile, MJ was incredibly effective at 40+ years old... MJ was the ultimate combination of skill and athleticism. Kobe was athleticism.
If he's truly looking at it from a "pure skill" standpoint, where the **** is Steve Nash? KD hasn't the faintest idea of what the **** he's talking about.

lebron isn't skilled though.. he can't even hit a free throw, his footwork sucks, his mid range shot is non existent, he can't back anyone down, his spin move is a travel, his drive is a push off/dislodging maneuver... hes basically a slightly more talented shaq in a slightly smaller frame
he's never even averaged over 10rpg and hes been the size of an average center for the last 7-8 years
and he cherry picks to get the ones he does have

Uh, what... that's not what I said.
LeBron isn't one of the five most skilled players of all time.
My point was that he very clearly included Shaq and Kobe, who are both very clearly not top 5 skilled players of all time. It's rather obvious when you look at how incredibly far they both fell off as their athleticism waned.
I mean these guys were complete shells of their former selves.
Jordan was still a legit star in terms of play at 40 damn years old. Kobe retired at 34. Shaq retired at 39 and he had been trash for many years prior.
If you can't keep playing at 34, your skills were never as good as people made them out to be.
LeBron will have a similar dropoff at some point because his game is also largely predicated on athleticism.
The point that I was making is that Durant included multiple guys in his top 5 that were clearly no where close to top 5 all time in terms of skill. Therefore, it's pretty obvious he kept LeBron out of his top 5 out of spite and jealously because he WANTS TO BE LEBRON, because his top 5 was not based on skills.
Kevin Durant is a straight up retard, and so are you.
I mean you are breathtakingly stupid. You're so dumb it makes me want to kill *my*self.

I'm glad to see Kareem's stock is finally starting to drop on here. I don't see how a guy who missed the playoffs in the middle of his prime TWICE, in the 70s of all eras, can be top 3 all time. Sorry.
He can thank Magic for the majority of his rings as well.

And I'm not even saying that this is the list... these are the guys that just jumped out at me.
We're not talking about things you can only do because of your athleticism. We're talking about foot work/body control, ball control/dribbling, shooting ability, passing ability. That's pretty much it.

Kobe's play fell the **** off of a cliff when his athleticism tanked. He is LITERALLY the most overrated "skilled" player that ever played the ****ing game.
I'm not saying the above guys' abilities had nothing to do with athleticism, but in Kobe's case, it's pretty ****ing obvious how important it was... and how much more important it was to him, than to them.

most skilled for dummies isnt the same for most skilled for the smart ones. You guys think that most skilled equals quantity of skills while the smart ones thinks of quality. You guys think that person A with 2 courses is more skilled than person B with one course but with a masters degree. But for us, its the other way around. Kobe is more advance than lebron in the most important skill(scoring). Thats why kobe doesnt need a player whos more skilled than him to win coz he is that guy. But cant blame you guys. Analyzing skills is hard so you just count stats and thinks this guy is more skilled.

Shaq was MVP favourite in 2005 until 2 weeks before the playoffs started. He was 33 years old by then. He still was good enough to be an All-Star in 2009, won the MVP there and had a good season. Shaq was skilled, but unlike Duncan he didn't get leaner as his athleticism waned to save his career.
Did Duncan lose his skills, when he went from a 23/13 every night guy to a 11/8 guy?
Kobe retired 38 and tore his achilles at 34 years old. He lost a step in that '13 season, but still played great, if you like the way he played to begin with - I don't tbh.
An achilles tear at any point can kill your career. At 34? You most likely don't come back and the Kobe everyone knew didn't. It really hurt his legacy.
The skills still were there, but if you're the slowest guy in the NBA you will get locked down.
Jordan at 40 still had lift, speed and his insane arms and hands. He was way more athletic at 40 than post achilles Kobe.
