TD
never missed the playoffs.
Never had any talented players he couldn't gel with.
Never asked to be traded or get his boys roster spots
Won atleast 50 games or lockout equivalent each season.
Won over 1,000 with one franchise.

Except some (obviously complete empty) stats there is absolutely NO argument for Lebron > Duncan.

Never had to collude with multiple superstars
Never threw his teammates under the bus
Never complained about the lack of help
and
so
on

TD gets unnecessary hate for being a phaggit.

Unfortunately 80% of this forum bases its basketball opinion on $tats and the Bible of BasketballReference

I guess thats the reason why lebron lost to him twice. Coz lebron is the greatest coward in history.

You'd have to be a complete moron to have Bran over Duncan.

Duncan made SA the best franchise in sports for 15 years after dwelling in obscurity.

TD was so cowardly that he refused to come out of the closet. Even when he's out of the league he still can't do it. But LeMcMahon lost to TD because TD's a phaggit. He lost to TD because it was the best plot line available.

LeBron is cemented in the top 3. Duncan is ~7th.

Wherever he ranks in relation to Bron, I do find Duncan is becoming criminally underrated nowadays. Didn't have the best numbers, flashiest personality, or most aesthetically pleasing game. He 'only' anchored a franchise for 19 seasons that produced 5 championships. He's not the guy you can market to the casual masses though, so :confusedshrug:

I love Timmy but No way he ranks higher than LeBron.

Most people have him behind Shaq and Kobe though. Which makes absolutely 0 sense.

I'm pretty sure most "idiots" consider him better, most smart people do too. Bron is by most recognized as top 5 minimum. Td a little lower.

Ok, let's play that game:

Suppose we use your retard logic that most rings defines who's the GOAT and we list only legit all-time HOF greats. We thus have a greatest ever list that consists of the following:

1. Bill Russell - 11 rings
2. Sam Jones - 10 rings
3. John Havlicek - 8 rings
4. Michael Jordan - 6 rings
5. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - 6 rings
6. Scottie Pippen - 6 rings
7. Bob Cousy - 6 rings
8. Magic Johnson - 5 rings
9. Kobe Bryant - 5 rings
10. Tim Duncan - 5 rings
11. George Mikan - 5 rings
12. Robert Parish - 4 rings
13. Shaq - 4 rings

And then finally coming in at 14... LeBron James with only 3 rings. Same as Larry Bird. Who I'd take over LeBron any day.

But since we have trolls like Wheels that like to include guys like Robert Horry in the list, then LeBron doesn't show up at all on the list until #28:

So basically what you're saying is both points of view aren't logical and shouldn't be what you base your list on? Thanks for the tip. :applause:

I think most people see Duncan as the GOAT 4 and Lebron as the GOAT 3.

If you polled GMs as to which player they would rather have coming into the league, I think you would get mixed results.

Probably 1% of the basketball community has Duncan at #4. Even if you just look at just hardcore basketball fans, most of them would have him out of the top 5. The top 5 is usually: #1 MJ, #2 KAJ, #3 LeBron, #4 Magic, #5 Bird.

of which they shouldve won both given how lebron played. Its almost unbelievable how much duncans defensive presence limited him.

To make it simple, name me a great player that obviously made his coaches look better while winning it all three times. Now name me all the times a great coach manifested the best qualities in a great player.

That isn't what i was saying.

I was saying the general consensus is Duncan is the best ever at the 4 (pf) and Lebron the best ever at the 3 (sf).

But if you asked GMs which player they would take to start a team the results would be mixed.

AJ, evaluating players isnt as easy as reading stats or else most of ISH could be scouts right now. So think before you speak simpleton

I honestly doubt it. If you asked 10 GM's who they'd pick to start a franchise, I'd guarantee that LeBron would be picked by 9.
