Clearly undeserved and ridiculous. Should have been Kobe's.

Yep, Kobe got snubbed big time in '05

First MVP was for sure Nash's award, he was incredible and made such a huge impact (regardless of if rule changes helped).

Second was a travesty, LBJ was the MVP that season.

05 he deserved it for sure. Best player on the team with best record that had a huge turn around from the season before. That Suns team went on losing streaks when Nash didn

Kobe should have been MVP as he guided Lakers to the lottery in 2005? Bran stans have a long way to go till they can measure up to the stupidity of the Kobe stan. :oldlol:

On a more serious note, I don't think he deserved those MVP's. It really was the system more than it was Nash. Advanced stats back this up as his advanced stats in both seasons are decent, but nothing at all special you would think an MVP level player would have. You could probably have replaced him with any borderline all star 15/8 pg (which he was on the Mavs) and gotten the same results.

Lol. Nash was the system. It was give him the ball and let him create.

Clearly there was more going on behind the scenes than that, however, D'antoni probably needed Nash more than Nash needed D'antoni

...and what does LeBron have to do with anything? It's hilarious how you idiots don't realize how pathetic it is to obsess over some silly basketball player the way you do.
I just answered the question.

Its thee most embarrassing to make all those finals in the east, and people claim its only because of one guy. Others, rightfully so say its because of the conference he was in that allowed it.

Then, 2019 NBA season happened.

Not really. Chris Paul was the system on the Hornets and Clippers. That's a guy who completely controlled everything that was going on. Nash was just a perfect fit for D'Antoni's system.

He wasn't that great, though. All Advanced stats back this up. Many a pg could have replaced him and the Suns wouldn't have skipped a beat.

Agree to disagree. Chris Paul is really the only PG from that era who could probably replace Nash. Give Steve Nash prime Wade and Bosh and they really win not one, not two, but 4 titles.

the funny thing is nash deserved it more in 2007 than either of 2005 or 2006

but because they had already given him 2 they had to vote for someone else

its that kind of shit that just totally discredits the award. they pick shit based on biased agendas.. even chris broussard admitted he votes that way. he actually disregards someone based on whether or not they should have as many mvps as so and so

this is the exact reasoning behind kobes snubs.. they never wanted him to climb the all time ladder and catch their childhood idols

OP speaks the truth :applause:

Just being a marginally great all star like Nash or Doncic gives you lots of advantages being white in this league. And that’s what guys like kkkennethgriffin and crackerforlife don’t understand, is that the league favors white players so much. Bird was inflated because he was a foil to the black excellence of magic Johnson. Oh and don’t worry you caspers, the nba is definitely gonna push jokic next year, belieeeeeeeeeee dat

why?

nash was a GOAT offensive orchestrator... GOAT level passing, and 50/40/90 shooter. Yea he sucks on defense but hes playing the position that hurts the least in that regard. Plus defense is more of a team effort. Ultimately, ill take his defensive deficiency over giannis's no jumper.

Curry's lack of FMVPs

I think people who criticize him for that don't understand that as a three point specialist, his production is inevitably more volatile than that of other players. Curry can take over a game when he's hot, but when he isn't, he may not score much. Hence he has (statistically) very poor games sometimes. He had one such game in each of the past Finals, which basically ended his chance of MVP.

Durant plays closer to the rim than Curry, certainly takes more mid-range shots (helped in large part by the defense's respect for Curry clearing out that area), and thus is not as prone to a really bad game.

Nash's 2005 MVP was fine. The 2006 one was bullshit though. Dirk, Kobe, and LeBron were all better candidates.

MVP comment here.

the disrespect is real. Nash had some incredible seasons leading one of the best teams to the playoffs. Amar'e went down in 05 and he made Boris Diaw productive in place of Amar'e, it was like Amare's lack of presence wasn't an issue. he was a true MVP.

idk if i'd go that far, but Nash was a great shooter, he has 12 seasons with a 60%TS or greater. he was deadly from anywhere on the court, 3, a deep 2, a floater in the paint, anywhere. i'll say Curry is a better shooter (which is amazing to even say that when you're talking about Nash), but playmaking wise, Nash is far superior. the gap between Curry and Nash's playmaking is far greater than the gap between their shooting.
