3 HOF PG's who led league in assists 19 seasons combined. Can you guess the career usg% for each? (Highlight below for the answer.)

Respectively: 22.3, 21.0, 18.9

That's just incredible.

Not really

Usage only measures how often a player finishes a play (shot attempt, FT, or turnover)

Passers often let others finish the play, hence the low usage

You're confusing usage with time of possession (the actual time a player has the ball in his hands per game).. time of possession is the ball-domination stat, and nba.com tracks it

Here's the leaders for 2019

Here's the leaders for the 2015 and 2018 Finals:

Yeah, just a few random years I selected

oh wow, looks like lebron dominated the ball 30% more than harden's ridiculousness this year... .. surely his team won, otherwise that's some insane padding

... Oh shit, they were beat by record amount - so what the hell was lebron doing? Goat stat-padding apparently. :facepalm .. LeFraud

Usage rate and assists have no correlation. Didn't Statutory get bullied for like a month straight because he thought it did?

We need to start making history books of ISH on the countless threads that were deleted.

You're confusing usage with time of possession (the actual time a player has the ball in his hands per game)I'm already aware that it doesn't measure ToP. I'm talking usg% in the context of measuring efficiency in accumulating assists per poss. There's the inherent flaw in it being an estimate, but that can't be helped as with all other advanced stats.

All three are incredibly efficient at passing or making shots. I made a thread a while ago about Magic's PER vs usg%, not many have had that combination of production and efficiency.

Maybe add up usage (plays a player finishes) + assist percentage (plays they set up other guys to finish), and compare to ortg (points produced per possession, which includes assists)

This would look at total plays a player is involved in with how efficiently they execute those plays (volume vs the efficiency of that volume)

This would be mathematically flawed somehow, but probably better than what ur talking about

This would be mathematically flawed somehow Not a bad idea, but 3pt shot can skew ppp big time.

What can I say.. :confusedshrug: .. he's the goat punching bag

So flawed, so overhyped, so finally exposed

But tbh, he relates to the thread because he's the biggest ball-dominanator ever, and ball-dominance came up itt and is actually the topic of the thread
