[QUOTE]Three prominent finalists for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame's Class of 2019 -- Marques Johnson, Ben Wallace and Chris Webber

Vlade Divac got in

first of all, i think the international status to enter the HOF is bullshit. that's like some affirmative action shit for international players.

that being said, if that special international stuff absolutely must be respected, then divac, for all he's done on the world stage and helping globalize the league, is a deserving candidate.

now was divac a better player than webber?? of course not.

but yugoslavia was one of the first teams to kick Team USA's ass since professionals started playing. they won fair and square, and that team was captained by vlade fking divac.

i bet divac loves telling those "we beat Team USA" stories more than any story from the nba.

This is beyond a joke at this point. Wallace and Webber snubbed again, Vlade Divac got in

KG, Kobe, Duncan up next in 2020

a Kobe/Garnett/Duncan/Bosh/Webber hall of fame would be even crazier

ben wallace was great defensively but he didn't have enough success to get in the hall of fame

rodman needed a shit ton of rings to make it... 1 isn't enough

cooper never made the hall of fame and he has more rings and was the best wing defender in the nba for a while

The basketball hall of fame is a joke anyways. That being said, he should get in just for having a career FT% of .414. That's amazing.

Vlade, Moncrief, Paul Westphal and Bobby Jones are in.

Ben Wallace and Chris Webber get snubbed.

The NBA needs to break off and form their own HOF! The NFL and MLB DON'T share a HOF with college players, women athletes, etc. It's THEIR HOF pretty much. And props to MLB for including Negro League players by the way!!

But HOW IN THE HELL do Moncrief and Sikma get in BEFORE Webber and Wallace??? I understand it's your entire body of work in college and pro that can be factored. But Sikma was NEVER a superstar NBA player. Moncrief BRIEFLY was. But Webber in my opinion WAS a superstar caliber player in the NBA. Peak-prime wise, a top 10 PF ever! AND was the best player in college basketball when he was there!

Even revolutionized his position. Before him the league NEVER saw a 6'10 250 pound PF with that blend of scoring, rebounding, passing, athletic ability, and strength. Took what Barkley was doing and put it in a 6'10 250 pound package! Props to Derrick Coleman in a sense for that. BUT he didn't function in a point power forward type of role like Barkley and Webber did. And he wasn't as dominant a player as Webber and Chuck! To get in MLB or NFL HOF's, u gotta be a superstar level player OR damn close to one. Or u had to be very good for so long that your numbers get you in. It's a shame the NBA has to be a part of that Naismith BS. The only HOF WORSE is the WWE HOF!! LMAO!!

Vlade was definitely a hall of famer.

Chris Webber is overrated as hell. Ben Wallace not being in the hof is a travesty, though.

I'm pretty sure the Michigan scandal is the main reason CWebb keeps being skipped over for HOF considerations.

Is Vlade being inducted as a player or "contributor"?

International HOF is not the same as NORTH AMERICAN HOF...

I dont and wont ever consider Vlade a HOF type player in the NBA..

But I understand that most of these guys get into the HOF based on their international careers.. I think the NBA needs to break away and form their own HOF..

There needs to be an NBA HOF cause that's how we see who should be in, whereas the people who run the Basketball HOF, they induct guys who did well in college and overseas, not just the NBA. Not sure how or why Ben is not in yet. Brain scratcher right there for as good as he was defensively for so long. I am sure Webber isn't in because of the Michigan scandal.

Well they retired way before Webber and Wallace retired.

Did anyone watch the game on ABC yesterday where Van Gundy had a brief, concise rant against the BBall HOF?

He essentially echoed the thoughts of many here that the NBA needs to have it's own HOF or else it will continue to be a hall of "very good" and that 10+ inductees every years is too much.

It's an absolute travesty that Weber isn't in the HOF. He was an absolute superstar during his prime/peak and one of the elite players in the league. Wallace should also be in.

Divac? Really? Sikma was very good and Moncrief was a stud at his peak but they aren't HOFers to me. I can see Bobby Jones because he was a GOAT tier defender & energy guy.

Basketball HOF is starting to lose credibility.

ben wallace was great defensively but he didn't have enough success to get in the hall of fame

He won a ring, 4 time defensive player of the year, 5 time all-NBA 2nd/3rd team and 5 time first team/1 time second team all defense. What standard is being applied when Tmac gets in with 2 scoring titles, a bunch of all-NBAs and a string of first round losses? The HOF standards are way too abstract and arbitrary.
