I have some dude telling me Kobe didn't get outplayed in the 2000 finals and 2001 finals...but said Lebron got outplayed in the 2017 and 2018 finals...

Why are there so many retarded people out there? This dude is serious telling me this stuff. Saying "how did Kobe get outplayed in finals he won?" and then saying Lebron got outplayed because he won 1 game in 2017 and was swept in 2018.

Do people think basketball is tennis or something??????

Well I heard it took that poor Kobe fella six trips to the Finals to get his first Finals MVP!??

Sounds like a Curry move (0-4) :(

So, what argument do you have for Lebron in 2007, 2011, 2017 & 2018? Was he clutch in those series? Did he perform better than the opposing team's best player?

you know lebron in 2017 and 2018 performed better than Kobe ever did in any of his 7 finals, right? in fact he had 2 of the GOAT finals

This is a different discussion than what I'm referencing in the OP.

Clearly Lebron was outplayed in 2007 and 2011...BUT if Lebron's team somehow won chips in 2007 and 2011, then using the retarded logic of the guy I'm talking about, Lebron DIDN'T get outplayed in 2007 and 2011.

See how dumb that is? Just because you won a chip doesn't mean you as an INDIVIDUAL player weren't outplayed by a player on the other team.

So Pippen>Kobe?

Horry>MJ?

You can't have anymore nuance than that?

The goal is to win, not get pretty stats. If you lost, you got outplayed.

Then why ever talk about individual players? The 9th man on a winning team is > the best player on a losing team.

No such thing as role players, all stars, superstars. Just winners and losers.

Beautifully stated, exactly the reason why no one ever considered Jordan the best player on the floor the night he dropped 63 points. Dude got outplayed by every single Celtic player

Since no one else chose to call you out on this, I will.

Seems like you, Pauk, Southbeachtalents and a few others love citing the 2000 Finals and Kobe's numbers. While I know that none of you nerds actually watched this series, context does matter.

Anything significant happen to Kobe during that series?

Lol @ these weirdos thinking that the Finals MVP is some carrot that these dudes care about. Imagine Curry actually giving a fvck about about the Finals MVP when he's one of the best/mot exciting players in the world.

???

Why are you deflecting?

They played different opponents in different eras if you're trying to compare their Finals numbers. Lebron has yet to average 30+ ppg and win a Finals series though.

Leon Powe outplayed Kobe in the 2008 Finals.

I watched the Lakers more than any team after MJ retired in 98. I saw the majority of the Lakers playoffs/finals games during their three-peat. The only basketball time in my life I didn't watch much was probably around 2004 and 2005 and this year.

Well, how can Lebron WIN with how he played in those series??

All stats are not equal. 2007, he was completely shut down and turned the ball over at a record rate at like almost 6 times per game and couldn't hit a jump shot, 2011 his shooting was exposed again and he couldn't handle all the different match-ups in the Zone and he couldn't get any clean looks at the rim and was unclutch. Those two are clear cases of being outplayed.

Durant was clearly better in 2017 & 2018. You can cry about teammates all you want, but how many close games did Lebron win in those Finals? He had plenty of opportunities to close out 1-2 possession games and he came up short like 3 times (Game 3 2017, Game 1 2018, Game 3 2018) while Durant hit clutch daggers in his damn face.

Yes or no?

You must not watch much basketball. He won the championship and was almost in tears instead of celebrating because Durant won Finals MVP over him...again

Yes or no?

Yes, he got hurt

But he still put up pretty awful numbers.

And I find it funny that a Kobe fan is now using an injury as being a reason for someone's decline when you've been clowning on Lebron all year.

You idiot.
