View Full Version : You can't blame a guy for fitting his game into a good brand of ball

so players like Kawhi shouldn't be knocked for having the superior skill needed to achieve great stats, while fitting their game into good team basketball that wins regardless of cast (i.e. clippers this yr)

Oh, so a 63-win pace? :lol

OP you're a clown. You got wrecked in my Lebron vs Jordan through it and you won't even come back in there

It's pretty clear who is the best individual player of all time. Jordan will always be second at best.

Exactly, and most of that before that late season acquisitions..

apparently they've developed great brand of ball - great BASKETBALL that does solidly regardless of cast, because they certainly aren't stacked talent-wise without kawhi

Oh cool so then the stars have no individual impact :lol

Might as well be Harden or Carmelo on those 96-98 Bulls :lol

Congratulations. You played yourself

That's boring. It's safe. It's elevator music. It's Will Smith rapping. It's a sandwich with the borders cut off. It's pussified entertainment. I prefer watching a superhuman alpha male toss a merry band of scrubs on his back and take them to the apex. Using his stiff "arm" to sodomize anyone and anything in his way. Now that's entertainment. Le****ingGOAT. OP is a phaggit. :applause:

There's levels to this shit

Teams win 55+ games all the time but can't get past the 2nd round for a decade (griz).. And then there's 55+ winners that are dynasties and win year after year

And all the levels in between

i.e. a blue belt in karate is solid, but is no match for 9th dan black belt

Harden/Melo had lots of supporting talent in their career.. Unfortunately, they're ball-dominant and inefficient, respectively, and therefore their stats require a lower brand of ball and teamwork-concessions to achieve those stats.. So no 9th dan black belt team - they produce maybe a brown belt team

Otoh, Kawhi is an efficient, high-producing scorer that doesn't dominate the ball, so he doesn't have to reduce brand of ball to get his stats.. obviously, the addition of great production like kawhi's without reducing what is already there (great BASKETBALL and brand) produces 9th dan black belt teams.

This f*ckwit literally just compared Harden to Melo. And then called Harden inefficient.

Harden's TS percentage this year (while scoring 36ppg) is higher than ANY single year for MJ.

4-0 sweep against the champs with 22 on 36% is the apex to LeFraud stans?

Then he abandons Cleveland because he can't get past Dwight, and joins 2 stars to guarantee Finals from 11-17'.. :facepalm .. the "apex" in your eyes.. :oldlol:

And if you want the stiff-arm then watch the NFL.. Chest-to-chest posters or and1's require actual power and skill

I think the issue is that that same team would not be 17-5 if Lebron was in the team instead of Kawhi, and missed those same games. With Lebron ball, everyone has to sacrifice their playing style, their strength in order for Lebron to play his game and get his stats. And once you take Lebron out of Lebron ball, you're left with a team with no real system.

I said respectively, as in harden is ball-dominant and Melo is inefficient

And MJ didn't have to employ Harden's playground style and low brand/teamwork to be the goat scorer.. So he scored much more than harden (about 10 ppg more with 10 more MVP's), while his team won more rings (6 more rings)

For their careers, MJ scored much more per game with near-equal shooting efficiency, which falls under the umbrella of per possession efficiency, where mj's was higher (118 ortg to Harden's 113 in playoffs)

Yes players have been playing basketball usually from ages 5 to 25 or thereabout and yes, after 20 years of obsessively playing one game they "forget" how to play as soon as LeBron misses a few games :lol

Thanks makes a lot of sense.

But the entire league is scoring more per 100 possessions on better efficiency than ever before

So MJ's was much tougher.

And for their careers, MJ scored much more per 100 possessions with better ortg in playoffs and equal in RS

This.

Siakam and marc are both incredible big men passers... Kawhi not only gives them plenty of room to play their games and excel, he's also a reservoir of assists for them...so not only enabling, but enhancing.

Nah, Lebron had an equal scoring partner who closed for him

The apex is being called god in basketball shoes by the former goat, or thoroughly out-playing the another former goat in the championship

Or simply 6/6 with 6 FMVP's (twice as many as anyone else)... 6 FMVP's is the goat alpha dog supremacy, especially while scoring 10-20 more than 2nd option (goat defensive attention, no equal scoring partner like Bron)

All contenders in the 90s had less stars (1 or 2 all-stars), and the bulls were no different

Evenly spread talent is called parity, which makes it harder to win - it's harder to win with numerous teams having equal talent, than 2 teams having all the talent/the only big 3's (heat/spurs and cavs/warriors)

Hey be nice:no:
Raptors were 2nd in ORTG last year before Kawhi and now at 6th best with him.
I like Kawhi because he doesn't take way to many attempts, most taken per game was under 19 shots unlike other superstars who takes about 25/game.
Averaged about 15 shots/game in SAS, whom btw were not tops in ORTG when he was the best player.
San Antonio ranked first in ORTG when he was 20 yrs old taking 6 attempts while the same team ranked 9th best when he lead the team in attempts.
I like Kawhi bec he usually defends against the opposing team's best player and doesn't rely on teammates that much on rebounding and passing.
