I've had a half impacted one for years and it never bothered me. I got a fukking popcorn kernel stuck in it and it got infected. Got to get this b!tch yanked.

I still have my other 3. Should I just get them yanked anyways? The only problem I have with them is food gets easily stuck. I always carry dental floss.

Hope it goes well.

Make sure they give you good pain meds.

unless you have a double jointed jaw or loose mouth (like so many of the posters around here) its always gonna be a bitch to floss around your wisdom teeth.

if you need to get one of them pulled, you might as well take them all out IMO...

They haven't really bothered me. Actually only one is fully impacted. The other 2 on the left side have never broken the gums. This bottom right one is half impacted but never caused problems until I got a popcorn kernel stuck. The only fear I have for the fully impacted one is food sneaking through and getting stuck.

My wife had all of them yanked when one of them started giving her a toothache...me, I had them done once pain was an issue and man did I regret that :lol

Still need one last wisdom tooth to get pulled out but gonna need to have dental surgery for that eventually since the top part cracked...should've listened to my wife's advice but I'm a flat out yellow bellied coward when it comes to dental work :facepalm

Well my line of thinking is that its almost certainly going to require full anesthesia in order to remove that half impacted tooth, and if you are planning to go under anesthesia and let an oral surgeon in your mouth, you might as well get all your teeth done while they're in there.

When I had my wisdom teeth removed all 4 were still fully impacted, my dentist said they were going to crowd my jaws and **** up the alignment of my teeth if I allowed them to grow in. I guess if you have extra room in your jaws it might not be an issue for you.

Yeah I guess I might as well get the other one out. Might get a deal for multiple teeth. Beats alway having to carry floss around too. I could finally be able to eat pulled pork without the consequences

I would think you should be able to get a deal for multiple teeth. Prices probably arent as bad in Canada, but in the US it costs like 3-5k to get put under anesthesia... definitely not something you want to do more times than you have to.

What?? Holy cripes that's expensive. Tooth extraction here is like $300. Some clinics offer deals on multiple

dental work is insanely expensive in the US. I have a friend who recently needed a root canal, and he ended up flying to mexico with his GF, spent a week at a nice hotel, and got his root canal done by a mexican dentist... all for less than it would have cost to have the procedure done in the US.

...and he claims the mexican dentist he visited had better equipment than his usual dentist in the states

They go for about 150 bucks here in MX, from good reputable dentists, had work done here and have been completely satisfied...3-5k is insane :facepalm

Bro, I had lazik surgery done to both my eyes, I was as blind as a bat before and always needed contacts or glasses every waking moment of my life, got it done in San Luis Potosi, MX and I don't need my glasses nor contact lenses anymore  Ran into an older couple from the US while waiting my turn...US healthcare costs are way tf expensive, its really a shakedown tbh.

I know the stereotype that Mexican doctors are crap but nothing could be further from the truth, the doctor I visited to get my eyes done is well known and respected, lots of foreigners travel to his practice, he had state of the art technology from Germany. Paid 500 bucks for both eyes.

yep. mexican doctors are typically no different from american ones... except they usually have better equipment and they cost 1/10th the price

Where?
Just a regular dentist in my area.

i was facing this issue just about three weeks ago.

out of nowhere, i had incredible numbness in one of the wisdom teeth regions. it was only for a day and a half. i highly suspect it's caused by the wisdom tooth erupting. i did call my dentist on that same day, but he was on vacation. but then the pain went away, and i sorta just allowed the procrastination and i didn't think much of it again.

but this thread is a nice reminder that i probably should go fix this shit or at least have him take a look.

I had all 4 of mine pulled a while ago with the dentist only numbing my mouth(no anesthetic), I wanted to kill myself for the first 2 weeks. I could remember seeing my teeth cracked into pieces lol. Was a Chinese dentist, so I was able to do all 4 for <$1000 I think can't remember might've been cheaper. Sucked on tea bags and downed pain killers like crazy.

You should look at community colleges if possible, they might be able to have the head teacher do a procedure for cheap and for good quality since they're licensed like regular practices.

Got all mine taken out at the same time

I swore off pain pills so once the numbness went down I was in a literal hell for a good 8 hours, only time I ever cried from pain as an adult

My cheeks swelled up like a chipmunk and I couldn't chew for about 2 weeks

It's worth it in the end though

Paid 1500 an eye for lasik around 10-12 years ago.

Best money I ever spent, but would've been even nicer to pay only 500 a pop.

Both sides were broken , cause if he went to deep it could affect the nerve , and then the real fun happens according to him.

Took it out for $385. Half impacted below gumline. Easy peezy. Feels ****ing great. I didn't realized how bothersome that tooth was.

Get all 4 pulled at once. I did and was glad. The only thing that sucks is you need a ton of that gauze stuff. I actually paniced become mine first batch was not stopping the bleeding that well and my grandma had to go buy more.

One thing that is weird is that when the blood clots you can't drink from a straw and everything you drink should be cold. It will give certain drink a metalic flavor.

Good luck. Getting them all pulled really isn't that bad.

I heard the metallic taste comes from clindamycin they prescribe with the procedure?

I'm good with just one. The other 3 aren't impacted. And 2 are below the gum. They never caused me problems

Man i have some terrible memories of mine

Mine were deeply impacted and fully grown. So I needed to go to a surgeon. I was in mid-200s so I underestimated the importance of having them pulled and just brushed it off. It felt like someone took a dull flathead screwdriver and just stuck it into my jaw on both sides. I dealt with that for months until i said **** it

The surgeon numbed my mouth and administered laughing gas. Though I vividly remember feeling and hearing my tooth literally being crushed. Very odd feeling, not really painful due to the numbness but that crunch I'd never forget. I wound up getting all 4 removed.

I also would up getting dry sockets in all 4 of them which hurt like ****, but the feeling of space and comfort in my mouth since then is just amazing. I only wish I did it sooner

This is starting to make sense. It turns out if you never got your wisdom teeth, it's because you are more highly evolved. :applause:

I've been on heavy antibiotics over the last couple of days. Today I played league ball and went hard. My sweat smelled like a used Band-Aid. My body must be expelling all the dead bacteria. ****ing rank

If you don't have a fear of dentists, just get numbed. Getting put under is way too expensive. You won't feel anything at all. It only hurts a few days after (worst headache of my life). Got all 4 pulled while numbed, no ragrets. $1200 in Canada.
