View Full Version : After seeing Wade's and Dirk's last games...

...in which they both shot 30~% to get 20~ points and both in Ls, how wild is it that Kobe was able to put up 60 points on 44% on his literal last legs while WILLING his team to the W? Doing all of that under lights even brighter than a team who was, at the same time, playing to break the NBA all time season wins record.
This is not at all a shot on Wade or Dirk. After an entire career of loyalty, integrity, carrying mediocre rosters year in and year out, and wearing your city on your back all the way to the promise land, no one can expect anything to be left in the tank. This is about remembering one of the most legendary moments in NBA history which gets disrespected far too often by the sheeple masses that play basketball on paper.
With Wade and Dirk leaving and Kobe being long retired, this is truly the end of the real nicca era. True legends of the game

Kobe's last game was unreal good and is likely going to trump "last games" in similar circumstances.
In comparison to Dirk, however, Kobe was 3 years younger...which matters a lot.
Dirk at age 37 was probably 20 times better a player than he is now.

Spurs/Nets were actually trying to win and played their entire roster.

tbh Nets barely tried defensively on Wade.. gave him so much space on his J's
but that was mainly cause they were up 20
we shouldn't use kobe's last game as the standard since that was extremely abnormal.
but for old guys like wade and dirk playing their very last game in the nba, shooting 36% and 38% weren't terrific, but they weren't total jokes neither.
i thought their final performances were aiight. they've done so much for their teams. they've earned the right to take more FGAs and have some fun on the court one last time. and winning those games weren't critical for either team anyway.

Pop literally waved off his own defenders from guarding Dirk so he could make his last shot. :lol

That was only once the game was already out of reach though.
Wade was a LOT better than Kobe was in his final year overall tho.

60+ the game winning go ahead jumper after nailing off balance 3's and pull up jumpers to have a historic comeback with only a few minutes left ... it would have been an all time great performance in any season
it was with everyone watching too. he knew he had to perform well. he told shaq he'd go for 50 too...
he had the weight of the world and hit the most difficult shots all night. he had maybe 2 easy layups but the rest were high degree of difficulty like the ones he'd take in his prime

Gifted, like everything else in his career.
Brick was gifted 5 rings.
Brick was gifted his only MVP.
Brick was gifted ~8 All-Def selections.
Brick was gifted ~4 All-NBA selections.
Brick was gifted his FMVP's.
Dude's career was manufactured. A glorified Jamal Crawford on a good day.
...in which they both shot 30~% to get 20~ points
Ignoring the rest of your idiotic post, Wade was significantly over 30% and 20 points.
