in case you didn't know
this makes up for lebrons legacy being ruined this year being exposed as a leastern conference fraud and nearly being traded/dividing the lakers organization internally/setting the team back to square one

The Lakers were significantly worse against the East.
Da West exposed LeBron doe!1!1!11!

it wasn't about specific direct competition as much as it was about not being able to compete every game. even when he came back he couldn't keep up with the pace of other teams hunting for playoff spots. he was 1 game back from the 8th seed and kept choking vs garbage teams.
that and both the east and the west this year are competitive.
in the east prior to this season lebron knew he could slack off all year and mail it in defensively... he couldn't do that this year

Kobe is cemented 12th despite Lebron existing or not, that's just where he is 12th.
Their co-existing legacies do not alter their rankings. We already know LBJ dominated head to head 16-6 and we know their are 10 players more deserving to be Top 10 than Kobe

:lol
My dude you’ll never have any leg to stand on in this because Kobe in his friggin prime missed the playoffs with Lamar Odom and Caron Butler. Sure he missed 16 games but the team did better when he didn’t play

And that's before Durant, Giannis, Harden, Luka, etc. officially surpass him in the medias eyes which is inevitable for all but Harden, but hardcore fans know Harden > Kobe so whatever
Point being, Kobe in 20 years will be borderline top 20 at best
Just know, 12th is Kobe's PEAK.. and it's only downhill from here on out

i don't think you quite understand why missing the playoffs in the west was infinitely more devastation for lebron
you see... kobe played his entire career in the west. he beat more 50+ win teams in the playoffs than anyone with 24... he made more finals than anyone in the west since magic johnson with 7... he won the most titles by anyone going through the west in history... his accomplishments during the toughest time of the toughest conference are just fine and dandy. so he's allowed to miss the playoffs in a year when he and odom missed a ton of games and the coach quit due to health reasons after a 10 man roster overhaul/rebuild. he also made up for that 1 year by dragging a worse team to the playoffs the next 2 seasons.
lebrons achievements however were entirely due to being in the shit east. his media and fans proclaimed he could carry soup cans/stiffs/cadavers to the finals and at the very least playoffs
yet after 8 straight finals he misses the playoffs in his very first season out west with his entire legacy seemingly on the line
when you look at this situation with a bit of situational context you can understand why lebrons getting shat on so much. have a bit of common sense for a change
theres a reason magic johnson gave up on lebron. even he sees the writing on the wall. this is a failed experiment because lebron is a fraud and his entire career is manufactured from leastern conference collusions and bail out shots from teammates
its over

25be one day soon
In our lifetime for sure
Meanwhile we'll never see ANYONE surpass LeBron as consensus top 2 all-time :hammertime:
Players like Kobe aren't all that rare which is why posters like OP have such massive daily meltdowns over putting their lifes work into stanning a B-level all-time great
otoh LeBron fam is calm, cool, and collected. ALWAYS. Because we know our place is secure for DECADES to come. Feels ****ing amazing.
