Of the 48 players who averaged 32+ minutes, LeBron ranks 10th among them in Defensive Box Plus/Minus (https://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/psl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=single&type=totals&per_minute_base=36&per_poss_base=100&season_start=1&season_end=-1&lg_id=NBA&age_min=0&age_max=99&is_playoffs=N&height_min=0&height_max=99&year_min=2019&year_max=2019&birth_country_is=Y&as_comp=gt&as_val=0&pos_is_g=Y&pos_is_gf=Y&pos_is_f=Y&pos_is_fg=Y&pos_is_fc=Y&pos_is_c=Y&pos_is_cf=Y&c1stat=mp_per_g&c1comp=gt&c1val=32&order_by=dbpm).

Opponents shot 42.8% when guarded by LeBron (https://stats.nba.com/players/defense-dash-overall/?sort=D_FG_PCT&dir=-1)

He averaged 1.8 deflections per game (https://stats.nba.com/players/hustle/?sort=DEFLECTIONS&dir=1&Season=2018-19&SeasonType=Regular%20Season), which is more than Kevin Durant, Danny Green, and Pascal Siakam

He contests 2.5 3-pointers per game (https://stats.nba.com/players/hustle/?sort=CONTESTED_SHOTS_3PT&dir=1&Season=2018-19&SeasonType=Regular%20Season), which is more than Klay Thompson, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden.

No trolling, LeBron deserves All-Defensive 2nd team this season.

Shame that the fanboys and trolls go with media naratives and gifs instead of actual defensive analysis

LeBron said it best when questioned about it earlier in the season:

"You guys see me out there, you know what I do you know what I'm capable of doing on the defensive end. Just watch the games."

Meanwhile think about this, this is mostly without his second best defensive player Lonzo Pippen.

LeBron is still capable of being really good at defense when he feels like it but he’s often pretty lazy. I realize he’s conserving energy for offense but it’s still annoying and he could manage it better.

What is the formula for DBPM? Isn't that stat greatly affected by stat padding defensive rebounds, thus the reason Kuzma pushed Lebron to play defense because he was waiting around for a defensive rebound?

I really don't know.

Really? The foundation of your argument is home video of a friendly fan interaction 1:1.and your avatar, lol

Please tell me more about the DPOY that you little boy has won
, after 15 seasons, when the GOAT MJ retired he had 9 all defense selections, LeBotched had 6.

In RS after 15 seasons same on blocks per game .8
On steals surprise, surprise MJ on 2.3 LePorus 1.6.

LeLazy, despite his height advantage and physical presence is only good for a rec 2 3 zone, even then he gets pushed into position by guys that sort of know what defense looks like.

MJ on the other hand lead on offense and defense , LeFruad doesn't need exposure, it's there for everyone to see.

Hook, line, sinker. Jesus Christ, meltdown more bro

These guys are jerking themselves off at these types of defensive "stats"...

What kind of arbitrary comparisons are these. Westbrook and Harden are some defensive templates now? Danny is a decent man defender, what does including Danny in "deflections" even represent? Is he supposed to be a master of deflecting the ball? Let alone fking KD and Siakam

What does defensive box plus minus actually mean in terms of on court basketball impact? Are you able to completely define it and articulate how it impacts the reality of a basketball game on the court without providing a Google definition answer?

I mean, these are some seriously desparate times for Bran stans so I don't blame them one bit tbh. The meltdowns have been amazing to watch.

That was a HUGE travel. I don't even like LeBron... but Grant Hill walked. Not many fastbreak travels get called in the NBA, certainly not against star players. The entire sequence is a weird mix of errors, starting with LeBron's botched no-nook pass attempt to his touch foul at the end. Kinda surprising they called it too.

It's a travel because there is no room for grey area the moment you touch the ball with two hands. But with 1 hand? You can take like 10 steps while you're "gathering" it between receiving a pass and running a fast break. And if you can palm a ball then you can cheat the rules even more.

Technically, the moment you receive a pass you have to let go of it from both hands before you take 2 steps. That never EVER happens in a fast break situation in the NBA.

LeBrons been a huge reason why we fall apart in games. As a leader whos seen visibly not showing effort on the defensive end and missing rotations. It rubs off on the team. He's not as bad as Rondo though.... which isnt a compliment.
