IMO you need to play defense, hit free throws, mid range, post up, have counters, footwork, many offensive go to moves etc... in order to be the best player

knicksman
04-12-2019, 05:50 AM
if lebron is really good, he wouldnt be needing those stats to prove himself. Coz stats are for the insecures. And the result speaks for itself. Shrinks in crunch time so he needs superteams to win. And stil got 3/9

i dunno about that.. because defense is a way of impacting the game...

even if you value defense less i'd go with:

2004 - shaq
2005 - duncan
2006 - kobe
2007 - kobe
2008 - kobe

2010 - kobe
2011 - dirk
2012 - lebron

2014 - durant
2015 - curry
2016 - kyrie
2017 - durant
2018 - durant
2019 - giannis

i guess you could argue 1 year for lebron... 2012 was the only year i would truly count on lebron to take me home. before that he was shook and after that he quit playing defense and quit posting up

all those guys i listed would be the 1st pick if i was drafting a team for that specific season

Best in impact on the floor? Yes.

if its gross then lebron but net impact(gross - reduced impact by teammates due to conflict of roles)? then lebron isnt one of the best. Kobe won 65 in the much tougher west while lebrons max is 66 in the weaker east.

Impact wise, Lebron was very good since around 2008.

From a pure skills perspective, I'm not sure Lebron's in the top 10 in the past 15 years.
Not the greatest dribbler, hasn't improved or gotten a great post game. Mid range shooting below average. Free throws down to 66%. Few counter moves, not amazing footwoork.
Basically 90% of his "skills" rely on size, strength and athleticism.

I can think easily of 10 players with more pure "skill" that played this year:
Wade
Curry
KD
Kyrie
Harden
CP3
Paul George
Olidipo
Donovan Mitchell
Kawhi

Lebron's "skills" once you take away the muscle, size and jumping ability are all far below these players. Kobe, who I hate, $hits all over him from a pure skills perspective.
In the open court with a head a steam Lebron makes good decisions and is hard to stop. Slow it down to half court - if he's not surrounded by amazing shooters he's not winning - no ball movement, and lack of pure shooting can't be overcome just by being a musclehead.

There's a lot more than 10 my man. The top 10 most skilled players in the NBA would include exactly 0 forwards anyways. They might all be PGs. Heck Lou Will would be over any forward in the league.

LeBron is the biggest joke to ever set foot on a basketball court. If he would have just played the game and stfu like Dirk for example, he would actually be respected.

Donavan Mitchell is more skilled than LeBron?

Its Oladipo btw ****ing retard

more dominant statistically/more productive offensively? no... better 2 way all around polished basketball players

yes

you see with lebron its all a show. its not real. hence going to the west and sucking farts while putting up even better all around numbers than ever

If he didn't have Ray Allen, someone else would've gotten his shots in the first 6 games. Probably would've been more efficient. Ray was ass that series outside of that shot.

Your logic is flawed. Try again.

then we could also say. Lebron without forming superteams is ringless.

You’re absolutely braindead. Who the hell was a better 2 way player than LeBron during his peak years?

chase down blocks isnt defense

:lol

stiff arming your way to the basket or kicking it around from the top of the key while others run off screens isnt great offense

theres a reason lebrons playmaking skills suck if he doesnt have good screen shooters. he doesnt actually create anything himself. its all the shooters working to get open

No one seriously counts the Heat years.

LMAO @ that super team in that conference meaning anything.

Meaningless.

bron stans have low standards. Thats why they respect lebron despite being disrespected by players.:lol

Kobe over LeBron in 2012 is indefensible. I like how he says Kobe was arguably the best in 2005 when he missed the playoffs with Lamar Odom and Caron Butler and the team had a better winningg percentage in the 16 games he missed and then turns around and shits on LeBron for this year. Pure hypocrisy.

yeah thats why every year for over a decade it was so and so vs kobe

1999-2000 vince vs kobe

2001 iverson vs kobe

2002-2005 tmac vs kobe

2006-2009 wade vs kobe

2009-2013 lebron vs kobe

but kobe never had an argument

Kobe had too many players as good or better than him in his career. Lebron hasn't and that goes without saying Lebron is of higher quality than Ol Parade brand Mike.
