Have only 1 MVP (in 20 seasons)?

Have zero playoff triple doubles?

Have never shot above 46% for a single season?

kobe doesnt care about style(stats) coz he got substance(skills). Style lets you win MVPs but not rings and winners only care about rings. Were not losers who cares about lebrons ringchasers rings and MVPs.

for a perimeter play back in the early 2000s, shooting 43-45% is good.

How many players in the top 15 have SIX (6) Finals losses? How many have LOSING finals records? Only Wilt has the latter, and he basically has his own record book.

Not:
Michael Jordan
Magic Johnson
Wilt Chamberlain
Bill Russell
Shaq
Kareem
Tim Duncan
Hakeem
Larry Bird
Kobe (borderline 10th)

the most skilled players ever in 3 major pro sports got screwed on many league mvps and only have 1 each

baseball - babe ruth, ty cobb, ken griffey jr

football - barry sanders, lawrence taylor, walter payton

basketball - kobe bryant, hakeem olajuwon, kevin durant

the media/writers don't dictate who the GOAT athletes are. the GOAT athletes dictate that.

Why does it bother you anti-Kobe people so much that he never shot above 47%? Why that number?

Great scorer... ✓
Champion... ✓
Finals MVP... ✓
MVP... ✓
One of the greatest players ever..... ✓✓✓

Stop trying to find ways to overlook how great of a player Kobe was by using some arbitrary number. It'll never change the fact that he's a legend and a top 2 SG ever.

Nope, it still correlates a lot of the time. Multiple MVP winners

NFL: Brady, Brown, Manning, Unitas, Rodgers

MLB: Bonds, DiMaggio, Mantle, Musial, Pujols, Gehrig, Mays, Trout, Williams

NBA: Jordan, Kareem, LeBron, Wilt, Russell, Magic, Bird

NHL: Gretzky, Howe, Lemieux, Orr, Overchkin, Crosby, Hasek, Hull, Messier

All among the GOAT's of their sport

people don't take into consideration the position kobe played... jordan was a fluke... a shooting guard that won 5 league mvps

what other shooting guard has more than 1 league mvp?

its not a position that accumulates a ton of all around offensive numbers. usually when a guy wins mvp he's dominating in 2 categories. points and assists or points and rebounds. jordan somehow got away with averaging just a ton of points. if the league mvp back then was voted on the way it is now and has for a while jordan might have never won it. the only time he had enough assists and rebounds his team wasn't nearly good enough. magic or bird should have won it in 1988 truthfully based on league history

people alway say chris paul should have won it over kobe in 2008 for a reason. paul had a high volume scoring/assisting season. thats really all its about

so for kobe to win 1 mvp is actually impressive considering wade never won it. drexler never won it. jerry west never won it etc...

is there even another shooting guard in league history other than kobe/mj to win the award?

harden is the closest thing and he's been playing the role of scoring point guard for houston

but last year he was listed as shooting guard on BBR... this year he's listed at point guard

the fact that kobe at shooting guard was able to get as many accolades as he has is an accomplishment on its own because voters are biased towards players from his position

When your generation is associated as the "lebron" gen, you really don't have much of a choice other than to look for ways to lessen the level of ****ery that's associated with you as a fan. MJ, Magic, KAJ, Kobe... fans of these generations are set. They actually are associated as being a winning generation in terms of basketball fandom, while lebron gen was awarded some fraud who lost 6 playoffs and destroys franchises wherever he goes. The cherry on top is watching fucc bois try to defend a man that doesn't even know they exist only to come up short constantly.

because barry/payton/LT are arguable goats while manning is a total choke artist, rogers is an analytic geek creation and unitas wouldn't be a top 50 QB in todays game

Not really picking a side here, but LT winning MVP is one of the greatest accomplishments in all of sports. The fact of the matter is that the award is heavily biased towards QB's and lesser so towards halfbacks. I'd say that a defensive player winning the award holds as much value as a QB winning that award 3 times or a running back 1.5 times. I also feel that Rice, Moss, and Megatron have great arguments for winning that award. The fact that a defensive player wins an award that is so heavily slanted towards offense speaks volumes about how much that player dominated historically. It is like 3x as impressive as a Pitcher winning an MVP (which also is very rare) in the MLB.
