Good for him to bounce back that quick. The Kings as a franchise have their problems but this is definitely a big step up from the situation in LA.

Perfect situation for Luke, the Kings will make the playoffs next year. I loved having him as coach and he would have remained the coach had Lebron signed elsewhere.


It is what it is. Hope he does will in this situation, and I hope we also sign a coach who can get the job done. Hopefully Bron can be healthy next season, but he's turning what...35? It's tough when your best player is on the tail end of his career. We have a young team, and instead of looking forward to many years of competitive play we are rushing to get a team situated around an aging star in order to get 2-3 years of competition.


Anyways...sorry didn't mean to derail the thread with Lakers talk lol.

Walton was never suppose to be coach once LeBron came. Just unfortunate. Same thing happened to David Blatt. Got command over a super young team, then within one moth or so it's LeBron's team.

I think this is a better deal for Luke than the Lakers. Once Lebron came, it was clear his authority was going to be undermined. The Kings disappointed a little this year, but it won't take much improvement to jump from where they finished to the playoffs. Should be far less stressful for him.

Happy for Luke he deserves a real chance, but Dave joerger did a great job there, if they didn't have injuries and if the FO wasn't so pathetic they would have made the playoffs :confusedshrug:
