Cringe. When your "star" is Defrozan you aren't allowed to make these kind of threads. :facepalm

Even on a terrible shooting night Harden got to the FT line, got others involved, put a ton of pressure on the Jazz defense, and ultimately won them the game down the stretch

Kobe never had foul-drawing or play-making ability that Harden does.. so Harden's better despite putting up a vintage Kobe shooting performance

Harden is a ****ing monster, top 3 in the league with LeBron and Durant.

He cheats the game and his coach encourages it and thinks it's the most unstoppable offense ever

A guy that spends 10 minutes per game with a live dribble is the most unstoppable force..

"cheating the game" is a compliment

elite ball handling, elite first step, elite timing, elite body control, elite change of speed, elite finisher = cheating the game

Harden is impossible to predict which leads defenders out of position and forces them to foul or watch him make a layup/floater

Gobert is arguably the best defender in the league and Harden makes him look like an amateur... hack city

His offensive game is very smooth and unpredictable because he can do everything well and as a result his defenders are left shook to their core at nearly every defensive occurrence. Did he have a bad shooting game last night? Sure, all players will from time to time but let's not forget his 36.1 ppg for a full season and the fact that he will continue to plow through the playoffs with an offensive force. Even with his crappy game last night he is still averaging 28-10-8

Harden is easy to predict and defend because he only does 1 thing - live dribble

He doesn't move without the ball or catch the ball 10-15 feet from the hoop where the defense is vulnerable and must adjust

So he can't play championship ball and has zero rings or Finals appearances as a starter

and that was with that retarded strategy they were using to defend him, letting him sprint right, to the rim every play.

imagine if he was actually guarded straight up and caught hard doubles?

houstons spacing makes that suicide for a defense though...

eh... he can still win it.

it will just take catching some breaks from the opponent ~ cold shooting, injury, suspensions etc.

imagine if the rockets had been in the east all these years... with no gauntlet theyd have a punchers chance at a handful of titles.

There's not one style of play that wins all the time

Harden is a PG who doesn't need to play off-ball... even though he proved he could in OKC

Harden handling the ball scrambles the defense and creates spacing for others who play off-ball and shoot 3's

Did Magic Johnson play off-ball or did he dominate the ball?

You put the ball in the hands of your best ball handler/play-maker... Jordan was never the best ball-handler or play-maker on his team or else he would've dominated the ball too

you criticizing guys like Harden and LeBron is just you projecting your insecurities about Jordan's lack of overall game. Harden/LeBron have Magic Johnson PG capabilities mixed with Jordan's scoring prowess and that makes you upset and insecure

His style must hope for a lucky one-off.. it's not championship ball

And unfortunately for harden, he wasn't a shyster like the Lebron team, who stacked the deck in a weak conference to make many Finals, in order to inflate his all-time ranking.. they were successful until this year, when they abandoned the blueprint that had fooled everyone

You don't realize how wrong you are - MJ was a goat PG

From ballislife.com:

March 21, 1989

Jordan continued to play at the PG spot until the end of the season. In these 24 games he averaged 30.4 pts, 9.2 rebs, 10.7 asts & 2.4 stls. Between March 24 and April 14, 1989, he recorded a triple double in ten of the eleven games, including seven consecutive ones. In the game he didn’t record a TD, he finished with 40 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds.

From the Atlanta Journal and Constitution

April 9, 1989

Michael Jordan now plays point guard, which means the Chicago Bulls give the ball more often to the NBA’s most productive offensive player.

No other NBA player has made a change of more league-altering significance. Los Angeles Lakers point guard Magic Johnson played center against Philadelphia in the 1980 NBA Finals, but that lasted only one game. In just 16 games at point guard, Jordan has gone from the league’s leading scorer the last two seasons to being lumped with Johnson, John Stockton of Utah and Isiah Thomas of Detroit as the elite among NBA point guards. Jordan may already be the best of the group.

Pippen wasn't a goat PG like MJ, which is why MJ led the bulls in APG for 6 of 9 playoff runs alongside pippen, despite carrying the goat scoring load.. :confusedshrug:.. :pimp:

High assist teams and ball movement teams win most of the rings - it's harder to win with low team assists and weak ball movement

Ball movement has always gotten role players better looks than 1 guy dominating the ball in the half court

Magic's teams were #1 in assists every year and didn't play like harden's teams, who rank near last or last

He needs to embrace his inner Ginobilli but I don't think he'll ever accept that a player with his skillset is ill suited to win a title and that's with the Rockets building the perfect squad around him the past few years. Only luck and injuries could help him

At least LeBron is talented enough to make it work a few times, but Harden isn't :oldlol:
