Olajuwon, Bird, Magic, Shaq, Kareem played big junks of their career, were stars and won during Jordan's time. If they're shit and Lebron's era is so much greater - which overlaps alot with Kobe's - Kobe's career also becomes greater by default. Really that hard to grasp?

Blackmon or Fat Lever > McCollum
Lewis > Lavine

jj watt was a pizza delivery boy (https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/texans/2012/10/09/watt-brings-energy-to-undefeated-texans/1623497/) before winning 3 dpoys in the nfl.
and like you pointed out, the likely nba mvp was a street vendor in greece before joining the bucks.
Like other immigrants to Greece, his parents struggled to find work. [Antetokounmpo] and his older brother, Thanasis, would help out by hawking watches, bags and sunglasses. In doing so, they jeopardized their roster spots because they were missing practices. They also missed meals.
as far as i know, no mvps from the jordan era were selling goods on the sidewalk before joining the nba.

In this post, you expose two types of ignorance. First, lack of basketball knowledge by not recognizing Rex Chapman, who certainly had both the height and leaping ability to explosively dunk. Second, you demonstrate a lack of understanding of the actual game of basketball. Chapman is jumping in a crowded space with little room for full extension of his vertical. Just as importantly while he's still going up in the air, he gets blocked both by Eaton's enormous mitt and simultaneously from another Jazz player from the side. Both of these forces pushed him down before he could continue his vertical trajectory to complete the dunk.
This type of play is actually not all that uncommon at any decent level of basketball competition. The fact that you failed to recognize it in your attempt to troll - again - betrays deep ignorance on your part.

MJ played better players:
Shaq/Penny > Hibbert/George
Malone/Stockton/Hornacek > Dirk/Kidd/Barea
Ewing Knicks > Dwight Magic
Isiah/Dumars/Rodman > Curry/Klay/Dray
Payton/Kemp/Schrempf > Parker/Duncan/Ginobili
KG/Allen/Pierce were 34/35/33 and a shell when lebron beat them.

I said his 85-89' casts were worse than any cast Lebron ever had
How did MJ's 33/8/8 yield 47 wins and the 6 seed in 1989, while lebron's 28/7/7 yielded 66 wins and the 1 seed in 2009??... Lebron obviously had a better cast
89' Pippen was a 14 ppg player and wasn't capable of being a 2-time all-star like Zydrunas, or a 22/5/5 steals leader and 1st team all-defense like Hughes, or 14/10 like drew gooden, or a 18/6 all-star that led the league in 3-point makes like No
Lebron simply had a much better cast, so he won with lesser stats... But carry on dumbass beta

Did 89' Pippen have 2-time all-star ability like Zydrunas, or a 22/5/5 steals leader and 1st team all-defense like Hughes, or 14/10 like drew gooden, or a 18/6 all-star that led the league in 3-point makes like Mo??
Lebron simply had a much better cast, so he won with lesser stats
Again, you guys are just deflecting fools who stan an exposed loser
Btw, MJ's 6 seed executed upsets in every round and took the champs 6 games in ecf, whole lebron's 1 seed was exposed by Dwight.. so lebron's stats were empty if anything... 89' Pippen < Zydrunas, Hughes, Mo, Gooden, and more.. the stats tell the story

MJ only lost with bum casts
Lebron loses with better casts (09 and 10) and even goat casts with 2 HOF teammates (11, 14, 17)
Lebron lost 6 times with 1 or 2 seeds and MJ zero.. lebron has 3 rings in his career despite 6 all-star teammates - MJ has 6 rings with only 1 all-star teammate.. MJ destroys lebron easily and I give you infinite L's on this site

I'm talking about their whole careers and ur talking about a one-off... ... the one time he caught enough breaks to win (1/4 vs warriors overall)
A one-off where he had an equal scoring partner at 2nd option that closed and outplayed the warriors' #1 guy..
people don't realize that the Warriors were the outmatched team.. lebron should've been chomping at the bit to take down an over-valued team like those Warriors - but instead, he started the series with 24 and 6 TO thru four games, before Klay's comments lit that fire..
Otoh, MJ would've had that fire from the BEGINING of the series - that's the mental deficit that everyone says lebron has to MJ

John Starks, one of Jordan's biggest rivals at his own position throughout the 90s, had a similar side-career. By day he was bagging groceries, and by night he was guarding Jordan in a pro basketball game. The more I learn about the 90s, the more I think that the nickname of Jordan's 2-time finals opponent Karl "The Mailman" Malone referred to Malone's actual profession when he was not playing basketball.

Are you kidding me? In any given year you watch a tournament wherein Steph Curry, Lebron James, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Giannis Antekoumpo, Kawhi Leonard, Joel Embiid, amongst many other unmentioned MVP/All NBA Top 75 players compete for a title. If you don’t like that you just plain don’t like hoop
In Jordan’s era you got to watch one guy get picked up by a helpless 5’11-6’3 white defender and do a juke move into what would now be a rudimentary finish.
Basketball is better when there’s competition and players have to be more skilled in order to emphasize team defense.

Nobody said anything about the modern day athlete being inferior. These kids are facile and capable of greatness. The brand of basketball being played leaves plenty to be desired for me though.
We've heard all the regurgitated counter points time in and over, but they stick and hold water.
Softness

I'm not even talking about taking a time machine back into the 90's. I was perfectly content with watching dudes like Rasheed go to work in the paint in the early 2000's. Give me the Iverson era over this repetitive chuck show any day.
The fact that bottom of the barrel bench players have the green light to hoist 3's at free will just preturbs my panties.

Lebron played with Shaq who won league mvp and 3 finals mvp's and lost in round 2. Lebron played with Peak Duncan who had won 2 league mvp's and 3 finals mvp's and won bronze medal. Lebron played with Peak Wade who won finals mvp and got outplayed by Jason Terry. Lebron played with Derrick Rose who won mvp under age 30 which was the same as Kevin Durant who won mvp under 30 while both were on Golden State and Cleveland. Lebron played with mulitple PER leaders as well and now Russell Westbrook a league mvp winner and more triple doubles than Oscar Robertson. Yet despite all of that Lebron lost with all of them.

http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?500416-Why-did-Pelinka-surround-Lebron-with-a-bullshit-roster
He has peak Anthony Davis, the best player on the 2020 squad and the reason the Lakers did anything as the 2019 Lakers missed the playoffs and 2021 Lakers lost in round 1 when AD wasn't around. He has Prime Melo who won a scoring title and all time leader in scoring for the Olympics. He has Dwight Howard a 3x DPOY and a guy who beat Lebron without HCA. He has Westbrook who is the modern day Oscar Robertson and also won league mvp along with average a Triple Double 4 years in a row. He also has Rondo who is a hall of famer.
Why didn't he play it against Dwight Howard in 2009 when Dwight was dominating http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?459570-How-is-it-even-possible-to-lose-to-Dwight-Howard-in-a-series-with-HCA/page10? Or against Duncan or KG or Dirk? Why did he run away from KD a guy at his position?

Difference between Lebron and Tmac?
http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?494830-Difference-between-Lebron-and-Tmac
Both 0-2 with HCA against 50+ win teams until they joined forces with someone who won as the man. Also won bronze medals.
Tmac lost to Utah in 2007 while Lebron was losing to a career loser in Dwight Howard and also Carlos Arroyo in the Olympics with peak Tim Duncan on his squad despite playing more minutes than Hakeem even played on the 1996 Olympic team.

Lebron quit on the Cavs and they burned his jersey and held his family hostage. He also only won 1 title for the franchise that drafted him which is pathetic in 11 years. Imagine someone getting credit when they lose with Shaq and only get to round 2 and they lose with peak Duncan getting bronze medal.
