Maybe it's just the midevil lore that bores me, but I've tried to get hooked on this title and end up snoozing out real quick.
I'm finding myself fast forwarding through the dialogue not even 30 min in.
Does it just start off slow?

I've been gaming 30+years and Witcher 3 is in my top ten all time. The lore can be a bit much. I only lightly follow it. I started the game in 2015....took a long break and finally completed it in 2017. Sometime this year I'll be doing the dlc. What keeps me coming back for more? Not the whole story as a whole, but I find many of the missions to be really interesting. I enjoy the interactions between the characters. The fighting is good, not great, but that's fine enough for me.

It's well-made and being more recent than other games is prettier to look at. Solid all-around it is a safe and reasonable benchmark for game quality. But I wouldn't call it the best at any one thing.

I have yet to play it. Is it better to play on pc or console?

Didn't they make a stand alone game called Gwent because the Gwent card game in Witcher 3 was so well accepted?

If you're skipping through the dialogue, you're going to miss much of what makes the game great. It starts slow for some people. I stop playing open world games after 10-15 hours and get bored, Witcher managed to keep me interested until the end. One of the best games ever when it comes to world building/lore.
