It doesn't matter how many car mechanics and grocery baggers you beat in the finals. If they aren't the best team in history it isn't an accomplishment.

It would be, if Curry, Bogut & Iguodala hadn't been injured. Oh and Draymond was suspended for a close-out game.

So many asterisks.

Um, injuries? Warriors have no business mentioning injuries when they were lucky enough to have these injuries take place:

2015: Kyrie, Love
2016: Kawhi
2017: Chris Paul

Warriors rings in a nutshell. And these players suffered actual injuries where they couldn't play anymore. None of those players above came back from their "injury" like Curry and yelled "IM HERE. IM BACK."

Injuries are a part of the game. You can go back in history and think of many examples where a team may or may not have won the championship depending on injuries. It's not an excuse to blow a 3-1 lead. And if you want to bring up injuries, no Kyrie and Love in the 2015 finals. Who's to say the Warriors would've won that year if not for those injuries to the Cavs?

Not as many asterisks attached to Lebron's rings.

Irving injured in game 6, takes only 6 shots making 1 in the 2nd half

"The injury occurred midway through the third quarter, with Irving running a pick-and-roll with Tristan Thompson to free himself from Klay Thompson. Warriors big man Festus Ezeli stepped on the inside of Irving's left foot near the toe while trying to show out on the perimeter.

He also had his left foot looked at by Cavs trainer Steve Spiro on the bench at the close of the third quarter.

LeBron needs to go into complete take-over mode to keep their season alive:

strings together 25 points the last 17 minutes, scoring or assisting 35 straight Cavaliers points (bar a technical FT) from 3Q 5.00 to 4Q 3.00, a time in which the Warriors went 10/15 at one point not letting up

Meanwhile Bogut played 12 mpg and was a liability with the Warriors outscored with him on the floor

There is no shred of doubt in my mind that every NBA fan knows this, whether they want to admit it or not is another discussion in and of itself but all b-ball fans know the truth.

We can't even fathom 1 guy leading all players in every statistical category for an entire playoff series of any length. Then when you look at the numbers he had to put up to accomplish that, it's no wonder he performed the number one greatest Finals game in NBA history per game score ranking.

That's quite literally what it would take to achieve such a thing. You would have to perform the greatest 3 game stretch in NBA history (2016 Games 5, 6, 7) AND the number one greatest finals performance in NBA history (2016 Game 6).

And that's the end of that.

Why because they beat a great regular season team? Because they had less talent? Which is debatable btw. 04 pistons beat a team that was more talented and who was a great playoff team. sorry man pistons Beating a more talented dynasty is greater.

B-b-but the splash brothers spammed 3s and changed the league
B-b-but LeGroin had mad stats
B-b-but even Drayboon was suspended
If winning a finals series is the unit of measurement surely LeGone would have achieved this feat against , I don't know say the Mavs, or the Spurs.
B-b-but muh car mechanics.
B-b-but muh grocery baggers
GSW swept the Cavs last year in the finals but now the Clippers have them 3-2 in the first round. But hey, ouch, mad, fumming, statsvsrings.jpeg.
For fans it was mute win, GSW is hated, LeBron is hated, LeBrons career is over and MJ is still the widely accepted GOAT.
Look I get Bran stans will never change their mind, no one is disputing he is a good player and ambassador of the game. The bigger picture is that he is Kobe 2.0 with better stats and less rings. The league needs narratives to put bums on seats and Nike wants to sell shoes.
Curry is UA and Klay has wack kicks, Kahwit is not media friendly, Westbrick is toast, Harden gets lame fouls, travels, Kyrie is uncle Drew, KD is a burner Instagram baby. PG needs operations after every Playoff exit. Without colluding your screwed.
There will come a challenger, Zion has that on his shoulders now, Jordan the 4th, and when he doesn't live up to expectations we'll have to wait and see.

coming back from a 3-1 deficit against a modern 73-win juggernaut and being the only team to do that in a series - meanwhile pulling that off in the finals on the road - while beating silver and all of the ref rigging the warriors had -that's easily the GOAT chip.

hard to argue otherwise.

I thought the GOAT accomplishment was sitting at home as a 34 year old watching the playoffs after moving to the Western Conference, compared to making the Finals in the East for the past 8 years. I mean, it's the GOAT example of the difference between playing in the EC v. the WC. Nice job LeBron.
