Secrecy, Self-Dealing, and Greed at the NRA (https://www.thetrace.org/features/nra-financial-misconduct-ackerman-mcqueen/)
[QUOTE]Marc Owens, who served for 10 years as the head of the Internal Revenue Service division that oversees tax-exempt enterprises, recently reviewed these records.

The authoritarian leftists would love to see civil liberty groups like the NRA disappear but it ain't happening.
You have a little bit of a power struggle at top that's being blown out of proportion by people that hate The Constitution. And OP's first article is total trash, it's literally written by an anti-gun site. It's like someone posting an article from an NRA publication and expecting a liberal to swallow it.

"The Office of New York State Attorney General Letitia James has launched an investigation related to the National Rifle Association (NRA). As part of this investigation, the Attorney General has issued subpoenas."
On Friday, Letitia James's office sent letters instructing the NRA and affiliated entities, including its charitable foundation, to preserve relevant financial records.
Some of the NRA's related businesses also received subpoenas, NYT reports.

Lol, "a little bit of a power struggle." The NRA has been running a defecit for quite some time and it's now apparent that funding and dues have been missued and misspent by those in charge in a self-dealing scheme.
On top of that, I knew this would pop back up:
Group sues Federal Election Commission over allegation NRA broke campaign-finance law (https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/24/politics/gun-safety-group-lawsuit-fec-nra-campaign-finance/index.html)

More or less similar to the handling of the Jackson's estate, which more or less played the daddy role in the media for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama (Racist alert). Just the way JFK won a presidency using money made off moonshine

I'm calling BS on this.
The NRA always uses this type of scare tactic to fundraise off of their sheep members

Their 2017 Tax Returns back it up. They're paying Ackerman McQueen and The Mercury Group, a subsidiary of Ackerman McQueen, ridiculous amounts of money on billing that is almost certainly inflated. Here are some more vendors...
[QUOTE]One of these vendors is Wayne Sheets, who retired from the NRA in 2008 but continued to serve as a fundraising consultant. [B]According to state filings, Sheets
