MJ took a dynasty to 6 games with his 2nd option getting those numbers
So it's funny that every other player in history needs far more help to be competitive against champs... :facepalm

Against weak 90s trash teams, sure.
Not against 73 win Warriors.
KD did 30/7/5/2 and Russ did 27/11/7/4 in 2016 and STILL lost :lol

Games were defensive battles back then, get a clue:
16' ECF:. 107 team ppg.. 99 Pace..
89' ECF:... 91 team ppg.. 88 Pace..
More importantly, the Warriors almost lost in 15' despite lebron shooting 39% on massive volume, and actually DID lose in 16'.. So they weren't championship caliber pre-durant and weren't champions in 16' like the Pistons were in 89'.. The 89' Pistons were a legit dynasty and far better than the pre-durant Warriors, who were only champs due to injury and not a dynasty
Secondly, the 16' ECF was very close and Durant would've won easily if Draymond got suspended in the pivotal game
Finally, that series was one of the rare series where the losing team averaged more PPG and ORtg.. So OKC technically won the series if not for a couple chokes in the clutch - this factor coupled with draymond's suspension shows that Durant's 30 was easily enough to win (28% of his team's points)
Now remember that MJ scored 33% of his team's points against Detroit, which would equal 35 ppg against the warriors......... and that's with great teamwork (points spread evenly over supporting cast, no westbrooking) - obviously, this would easily beat the non-championship, non-dynasty pre-durant Warriors

Huh? So first you talk about how low production was for Scottie but then try to boost the era up by saying it's low because the pace was slow? Which is it?
Russ as a #2 LOST with 27-11-7-4
Get. A. Clue.
You don't even make sense anymore. Go outside and get some fresh air, CornBall.

Now you're pretending to be dumb because you lost the argument
Obviously, pace doesn't account for Pippen's bad performance - pippen was just bad back then
The only way you lose with great stats is inferior/bad teamwork, which is Westbrook's calling card.. and lebron's too - he's the goat of losing with great stats/bad teamwork

No I get it you're just even dumber than I thought. I love how you talk about pace and then use ppg like how dumb are you truly? And then you disregard competition as a reason for losing. You've been really slipping in your old age, time for you to sharpen up and come back with better retorts.
I'll say it one more time so that it hopefully sticks. The 73-win Warriors forced teams to either play way above elite peak levels or lose. OKC was pushed to the brink and still lost...
KD's 30/7/3/2 and Westbrook's 27/11/7/4 was not enough. Jordan has never faced anything close to that.

MJ averaged 44 on 50% and lost - no one from this era has ever faced that (5 HOF team)
the 86' Celtics and Bad Boys were better teams than the pre-durant Warriors - this is common knowledge consensus - durant facing lightweights curry/klay don't compare
you simply never played yourself, or watched prior eras.. so you don't know anything and blindly stan a non-goat because you like big muscles.. the gayest shit I've ever seen

Meltdown on many levels
3ball: MJ won with his second option only averaging 10 ppg!!
Translation: MJ faced trash can opponents that choked.

Also, any real fan knows 2009 LeBron was on another level including anything Jordan ever did. I dare you to compare their stats.
2009 LBJ > MJ at any point
WS/48
PER
Etc. Even MJ couldnt touch LBJ's numbers in 2009. We both know this...

Westbrook is single-handedly reducing the value of the triple-double - people see how toxic that brand is and why lebron needed so much help/team-hopping to win with it
And i bet durant isn't an underdog next year with kyrie like lebron was - that will further drive home the point that durant is >>>...

this thread is about Kyrie
And the only thing he needed to have a great game was about 15 more points
Kyrie is another example of goat scoring ability (efficiently) being the best style, similar to Durant/Lillard style
Durant/Lillard's goat scoring + decent assists > Westbrook/Lebron triple-doubles..
Triple-double is old school, while offensive/defensive efficiency and clutch scoring is new school

yes the team will live and die with irving.
lets see giannis late in the series half court crunchtime... will he still be airballing 3s?
because we know kyrie wont be. if anything you should be shook because a down game from ree means youre due for a tidal wave.

1-9 is old school :lol
Lebron was 1-9 a lot more than MJ
lebron lost a lot more in the playoffs with a bunch of sweeps and 5-game losses to his name (yikes)
It's funny because I've noticed something recently - since the goat is the best, the only way to knock him is to criticize things he did, that everyone else did WORSE
For example - 89' MJ falters with a 2-1 lead against Detroit, but Kobe loses a 3-1 lead and lebron had the goat choke in 11'.... Or MJ goes 1-9 with 8 seeds, while others do the same more often and with higher seeds.... Or MJ loses with an all-star twice, but lebron does too and also 3 times with TWO all-stars
Btw, that last one - MJ losing twice with an all-star - that's the least anyone ever lost with an all-star - so MJ is goat because he was the most unbeatable with the minimal help that ALL players need to win

Back on topic, Kyrie's numbers after a playoff loss over his last 5 playoff losses are 36 ppg on 57%. Take what you will from that.

I expect a plump 35 point performance from King Kyrie
