The reasoning behind everyone giving the fight to Canelo was, because he marched forward and took it to GGG. All well and good, but it turns out GGG can box going backwards, and he outboxed Canelo while doing it.

Canelo is good, but no where near as good as made out to be. I was rooting for him in the first GGG fight, but after the rigging that went on there and in the second one, it is hard to be a fan. I mean, the guy got given a majority decision loss to Floyd despite not having won a single round in that fight. There was actually a judge that scored the fight a draw. :oldlol:

No it's not, GGG clearly won the 1st fight, but the 2nd fight was close, some had it Canelo, others had it GGG. To me Canelo controlled the pace of the fight, landed more power punches to both the face and the body, he bullied the bully. GGG made a mistake with relying on the jab so much.

I expect this to go similar to the GGG-Jacobs fight. Very close with spurts of Jacobs making it look like he can take down the favorite, but in the end Canelo gets the decision on the scorecards.

Fights get closer once the competition gets harder, something Spence and Loma know nothing about. Ali got handed numerous controversial decisions vs Ken Norton yet nobody ever brings that up and the casuals call him the GOAT.

And Canelo beat GGG in their second fight, stop the crying. Canelo was the aggressor, landed more power punches and displayed better defense. It was a close fight, but giving that fight to Canelo was far from a robbery. Give Canelo props, before the 2nd fight, GGG was the Mike Tyson of the middleweight division, he just bullied his opponents, walked them down and terrorized them with power shots, Canelo was the first fighter to go toe to toe with GGG and look like the aggressor.

Canelo won, get over it. Even Abel Sanchez didn't have a problem with the outcome of the fight. In fact, GGG had a very hard time vs Jacobs, he won the fight but alot of people felt it was a draw, Canelo on the other hand had a convincing win over Jacobs.

Lets face it, GGG has fought tomato cans excluding Canelo & Jacobs.
