Well, these are fine pieces of technology. However, there has to be rules set down now about their use.

- They will replace many workers. This of primary concern.
- They will be used in Law Enforcement. In conjunction with Aritficial Intelligence, police robots may be making life and death decision without human oversight. You may be arrested by such a machine.....Again, without human oversight.
- They will be used by the military. This is inevitable. Soon there will be an "arms race" having to do with robotics. Again, these machines will be making life and death decisions without direct human oversight.

There are many ethical concerns to be addressed regarding this topic. My guess it that, because money and business is involved, the ethics will be ingnored. The Laws which are needed IMMEDIATELY to govern the application of this technology will be delayed.

I am not optimistic.

These are likely to first be deployed for use in utilitarian fashion before we see them deployed for law enforcement and military applications, and even then they will be controlled by human drivers well before any real autonomous deployment takes place.

You may be right but now is the time to start setting rules.

I can foresee a not-so-distant future where throngs of unemployed people living like cattle from a guaranteed universal income are being policed autonomously by the same robots which took their jobs.

Artificial Intelligence combined with the latest in robotics is something that should give everyone pause.

Regulations are needed.

Regulations made by men will be absolutely of no use whatsoever.

You act like we're going to control a genuine, self improving, self programming AI. Haha. Yeah... right.

LISTEN! AND UNDERSTAND!

No, certainly. I think most reasonable people would agree.

China is notorious for not giving a shit about human rights. We at least pretend to.
